One evening this week, Sylvia came home from school and said her social studies teacher told her that day that he was giving them a test the next day. When he gave out the study guide most of the information on it they had not covered at all in class, so she had to teach several sections of the chapter to herself at home that evening. I helped quiz her on the vocabulary, and she seemed very well prepared. She said she was the only one in the grade to get an A. So glad we have taught the kids to have good study skills so that when they run into something that doesn't just come easily for them, they know how to study and learn things on their own! (I did not really develop that skill and therefor remember having some pretty big "freak out sessions" in college!)
Today the kids had half day of school. Sylvia spent the afternoon with Mikaela--partially at her house, and partially at ours. They did the blindfold makeup challenge, and didn't do too badly.
They also drew puppies and baked a chocolate chip cookie jack-o-lantern.
Alexis and Shelby came over to work on their sophomore class homecoming poster with Annah.
They based it off a screen grab from a scene in Mulan.
It was a fun Friday afternoon and evening with friends!
