The kind of chicken that goes bawk-bawk

Annah drove her siblings and me all the way to Krampa's and Gram's today! It's not really funny, but anytime we arrive somewhere with her driving, she thinks she is successful if, "We didn't die." I would like her to set her goals a bit higher.  She did a good job getting us there.

I made baked fajitas for supper.  

The best conversation of the evening was with Bryce.  It went like this:

Travis: Bryce, eat some of your chicken.
Bryce: I don't know what on my plate is chicken.

Me: This is the chicken.
Bryce: Is it the kind that goes, "Bawk-bawk?!?"
Me: Yep, it's the same kind!
Bryce: Did you cut its face off?!?!
Me: Well...........I didn't, but I guess someone did!

Oh my goodness, I am going to be laughing about that one for months!  Love that silly kid so much!  Hahahahahah!!!!!

Siblings

 Sometimes they drive each other crazy.  But sometimes they actually show that they love each other. 

Quiet start to February

Birthday presents

It was about 8pm when we all got back home after Sylvia's game, but it was time to open some birthday presents!

While wrapping presents, I practiced the re-use part of "Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle" since we were having a bit of a shortage of boxes...

When Frozen is released on March 13, Sylvie will receive a Blu-Ray/DVD.

This is the 3rd collection of books in the Sisters In Time historical fiction series that Sylvia loves!

I don't think she was overly surprised, but she was really excited to receive an iPod Touch.  

Daddy kind of set a precedent when he did the same thing for Annah's 11th birthday, 

but he enjoyed buying this gift for Sylvia too.

No time for cake and ice cream tonight, just off to bed since there's more ISAT testing tomorrow.  It was quite a busy birthday for our 11-year-old!

iPod Purselet

It's crocheting season!  We haven't had any snow or ice, but it's been cold enough I've had the urge to snuggle up inside with some yarn and a needle.  I made several scarves for Christmas presents, and really enjoyed making this little bag for Annah's iPod.

Even though she has a protective case and screen protector, she wanted something soft with handles to put the iPod in for carrying it places.  

I really liked this pattern.  It was easy and worked up in one quick afternoon, but the shell stitch makes it look fancy.  I also loved that it is worked in the round, so I didn't have any yucky seams.  Annah likes the color and the fact that the yarn is shimmery.  

My 35th

What a wonderful birthday I had this year!  Along with our lovely day in Peoria on Saturday, we had a fun evening at home.  Jeremy decided he wanted to give me my gift, so I was made to sit in the official birthday chair. 

Annah made me a virtual cake on her favorite iPod app.  :)

Sylvia made me a card with a lovely sentiment!  (Hallmark, you need to call this girl!)

And, Jeremy shocked me with this gift!!  Sure did not expect that!!

My actual birthday was lovely too.  I got to sing a featured solo "Jesus You Are My Life," with the choir at church.  How blessed to be able to do what I most love on my birthday!  Worship was especially moving today, and I love being able to be part of that with the Praise Team.  

We came home and had beef & noodles (the "Indiana Treat!") for lunch and rested all afternoon.  I played around with the iPad and started to get acquainted with it.  It is going to be a very handy tool.  I'm excited to see what ways I can incorporate it into teaching music lessons!

Later in the evening, I made pumpkin squares, and we watched a Veggie Tales movie together.  Then we tucked our babies into bed and Jeremy and I watched "The Big Bang Theory," which I am currently enjoying on Netflix.

I do feel kind of "old" at 35, mostly because it got here so quickly!  But, I definitely feel so blessed to be living the life I God has given me!  So grateful!
