Labor Day Parade

We participated in Bloomington's Labor Day Parade today with PoC.  It was a really fun and joyful time with our church family!

Jeremy dropped me off near the alley where we prep our float and gather.  The band plays on the float through the parade, and we had a little practice at 9am.  Jeremy and the kids parked the car at Miller Park where the parade ends and walked to meet the rest of us in the alley.

We had fun hanging out, waiting until it was our turn in the parade line-up.

 Finally, around 10:45 it was our turn to head out of the alley and into the parade!

The band played 4 songs several times, and the congregation led the people watching the parade along the streets in worship!  It was AWESOME to see people grin, shout, jump to their feet, lift their hands, sing along, and praise the Jesus as we went by!!!!

Those of our congregation who were walking handed out candy and PoC pens too.  Caeden said one little girl started to cry because she really wanted one of our balloons, so he broke his off his wrist and gave it to her.  

It was pretty hot and we were all sweaty when we got to the park, but I think the actual parade route only took us about 45 minutes.  

 It is FUN to be part of the family of God and to minister to our community!
