Farewell Party

Friday evening, about 30 or so of Jeremy's coworkers and friends attended a going away party for him. The kids and I got to go for a while early on. It was really neat to see so many people come out to wish Jeremy well; I know it meant a lot to him. He will really miss working with some great people, and is very thankful for friendships formed over the past few years. He starts the new job tomorrow morning!

New Teeth

Caeden's two bottom teeth poked through last night!  He was pretty fussy (for him) last night and didn't want Jeremy to put him down.  Then this morning, I was lying on the bed talking to him and noticed his teeth!

Hop-A-Thon

Annah participated in her school's Hop-A-Thon this morning. The kids take pledges for their hopping to raise money for their school. Annah hopped 132 times in two minutes!

Two's of 'em!

Caeden is such a sweet, calm, happy baby. He has started doing a really high-pitched squeal when he gets really happy. It's so cute. And, he is just about ready to be done with his bouncy seat; today he started sitting up straight when he was in it a couple times--so straight that he almost fell forward out of the seat! It must be time to get out the super-saucer instead of the bouncy seat.

Sylvia is talking up a storm these days. My favorite little thing she's been saying this week is, "I want twos of them!" which means she wants a lot of something. We can tell she is very close to the two-year-old mark though, because she is bursting into tears without warning quite often now.

Jeremy is wrapping up his job and preparing to start his new one on Monday!

No Want Sleeping Now!

We had a little visit to the pediatrician yesterday. Annah and Caeden both have double ear infections. Caeden was actually there for his 4-month well-baby visit, even though he wasn't feeling so "well." He weighed 15 pounds 15 ounces, and was 27 inches long. That puts him in the 75% for weight and 95% for height.

Dr. K. also let me know that Sylvia's Upper G.I. results came back normal. The next step for her is to see the gastro doctor.

In the car on the way home from the doctor, Annah decided to take a nap. Caeden also fell asleep, but Sylvia had slept on the way to the doctor. So, once her siblings were asleep, Sylvia told me, "Mommy, Annah seeping. Caeden seeping too. Sylvia no want seeping now!" And, she told me again, just to make sure I knew she was the only one not wanting to sleep at the moment. 

Before she fell asleep, Annah told me that she wanted to use her coat for her blankie. When we got home and I was getting her out of the car, I realized that she had put her legs through the sleeves of her coat! How resourceful!

Sylvia's Upper G.I.

Sylvia did great, great, great during her Upper G.I. this morning. She drank the barium almost like it was a milkshake, and she lay still and cooperated so well when the doctor and nurses asked her to turn and move. It seemed to me that it would be pretty scary for a little one to deal with, but she was very brave. I think she was fascinated by the big x-ray machine around her, her "special drink," and getting to see the picture of the inside of her tummy on TV.

Revival

This week we had revival services at our church with evangelist Jeremiah Bolich. It was a busy week, but so very reviving!

Mommy, you go down stairs

Well, we did find out one of Sylvia's problems this morning...She has a forgetful mommy! I forgot I wasn't supposed to let her eat before her x-ray this morning, so she couldn't have it--even though she threw up her entire breakfast in the car on the way there anyway.

Speaking of throwing up, Jeremy had the stomach flu this weekend. He is doing better, but still recovering. Ugh. The rest of us tried hard to stay away from him and his germs, but we'll see how successful we were...

Sylvia is finally starting to show interest in sleeping in her little toddler bed. We moved it into her room Saturday night, and once she and Annah finally settled down, she did sleep in it. But, last night, we were all too tired to deal with the process of her winding down, so she slept in her crib. I don't think she's quite big (or disciplined) enough to stay in the toddler bed and not get up and play quite yet-- especially with the distraction of having her sister in the room with her, not to mention toys, books, etcetera...

When I put her down for her nap a few minutes ago, she looked at me and said, "Mommy, you go down stairs. Don't come up stairs get me." I had to laugh. Everything she says is so cute.

Sylvie and Caeden are both a little bit sick with colds. Sylvia has had a slight fever since yesterday, but if she gets medicine it stays down.

On Monday, Sylvia will be having an Upper G.I. And, in March, she will be seeing a gastro doc.

She is still throwing up almost every day, sometimes multiple times a day. I am past the point where the doctor saying, "Well, maybe she will just grow out of it." is acceptable. I can't watch my child make herself throw up everything in her stomach anymore. So, we now start the journey of trying to figure out what makes her do this. I pray that it will not be a long series of tests with only more questions at the end. I pray the doctors will be able to help us figure out why she does this, and how to help her stop doing this--quickly. If you would join us in praying for Sylvia, we would greatly appreciate it.

Jeremy is starting to transition over to his new job a little bit, even though his first actual day on the new job isn't until the 28th. Today he got to meet a lot of the people he'll be working with, and he said they were all very nice.
