Mr. Marchese sent this photo of himself in the empty, cleaned out band room.  He is pondering what to do with the band for the last quarter.  It's so difficult for any teacher to suddenly have to put their classes online, but for music teachers it's even more ridiculous--especially for ensembles.  

In their boredom today, Sylvia straightened and braided Caeden's hair.

Jeremy has been watching the governor's daily briefing on the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ryan came to join us for church this morning.  While I made lunch, there was a game of Skip-Bo over my puzzle.

I made soft pretzels this evening, thanks to my friend Tracie finding flour and yeast for us!  They were supposed to be a 30-minute recipe, but took about 3 times that long since they get boiled in baking soda water, egg-washed, and then get broiled after being baked.  They were so good though!  Next time I would double the recipe if I'm already going to do that many steps.

Silliness...

We are living it up for spring break!  I ordered this puzzle from Amazon, and Sylvia and I put it together today while Jeremy was on a conference call.

This postcard came in a local newspaper flyer this week.

I'm working on this puzzle while listening to an audiobook.

We played Tenzi after supper tonight.  We also had peach cobbler!

One of the cards said to sing a song until all of us rolled a Tenzi.  Sylvia chose Bohemian Rhapsody, and that was pretty great.  It also led to Jeremy and Caeden and Annah watching Wayne's World afterward.

I asked Jeremy to get me a pair of bluetooth headphones, and Caeden wanted to try them out.

Yesterday, Sylvia took an old pair of Jeremy's jeans and made them fit her, then painted and doodled on them!

Jeremy bought 3 new puzzles at Meijer, and Annah finished one today!

Our friend Tracie sent me some photos of books she was giving away, and I chose some I thought our family might enjoy.  JEREMY IS READING FOR THE FUN OF IT!!!  It has been YEARS since I've seen him enjoy a book for relaxation, and it makes me so happy!

Happy Monday!  I went to make poached eggs for breakfast this morning, and put the pan with water in it to boil and stepped away from the stove to wait.  When I stepped back toward it, I realized I turned on the wrong burner.  Feels like a Monday!

Took Caeden out driving today.  He wanted to practice backing up, so we went up and down the driveway a few times on the way out.  

After an extra week off after Spring Break (or "Spring Break extension") last week, Annah started online classes "at" Greenville today.  She has a 6-credit humanities course for the honors program that is philosophy/theology this semester. There is a lot of work required, and she is seeing that there will be even more since they can't really run out of class time and will be required to complete all the work no matter how long it takes.  

This is pretty much our view most of the time now...hanging in the living room, laundry baskets of clothes no one volunteers to fold, blankets and pillows all over, Sylvia hitting herself in the head with an empty wrapping paper tube...okay that part's not constant.

Guess what?  We are on spring break!  Well, Sylvia and Caeden are.  They are supposed to be on their way to Florida today with the Ridgeview band and choir to perform at Disney World this week and visit all the parks and Universal Studios too. 

 Instead, we sat in our living room and watched the new PoC live-stream church service on YouTube this morning. It was a great comfort to "come together" in this way after the past week of weirdness and everything getting canceled and put on hold for the forseeable future.  

I use Amazon Subscribe and Save for a few items I know we will need every month, one of them being a 96-roll pack of toilet paper.  Guess what?  I won't be getting that delivery this month, since TP is the most hoarded item of this pandemic.  Jeremy has been to the store 4 times in the past 10 days and has seen no sign of TP yet.

It snowed again today!  It is a sort of tradition to have snow over spring break.

Annah set up her iMac and study station in the den next to our home computer. The kids were watching American Idol and The Voice together tonight.

March 17 - 

SnapChat filters specific to the virus...

Annah and I walked down to the village community center this afternoon to vote in the primary.  We saw the plaque for the Erthel Rose scholarship hanging and noticed her name has been added!

Annah has put together our ice cream puzzle twice, so today she started a scenic one that my Grandma C gave us.  It has a lot of sky and grass, so it won't be an easy one.

My friend Dawn has this on the wall in her bathroom, and her mom also has it posted in her house and posted it on her Facebook today.  I would love to have this somewhere in our house...love this sentiment.

This is yesterday at 3:15 pm--flowers coming up in front of our house...

6:50 this morning, snow falling quickly! I had to cancel all of my piano and voice lessons for today because the crews were not out clearing the roads!  I think everyone was surprised by the snow because we were all busy talking about the pandemic yesterday and didn't even check the forecast!  

We ended up with about 5 inches of snow!  And little Arrowsmith made the Weather Channel!
