JH Rewards Trip

Caeden went with a group of JH students to a Peoria Chiefs game today, as a reward for having good grades and no disciplinary problems.  It was a really nice day for a game!

Today the kids and I arrived in 'Busco as Tessa's game was happening. 

We got to see her get a base hit!

The twins had a game tonight too!

And Grayson ended an inning with a "grand slam!"

Gram picked up pizza and we all went back to Krampa's and Gram's house for a late supper.  So happy to be here with our fam!

Jeremy's Uncle Paul passed away in his sleep this week.  We attended his funeral today, and it was a beautiful remembrance of his life. I will always remember how funny Paul was, and how he would eat gravy on his peach pie at Thanksgiving dinner.  During the service today, I really enjoyed the story of how Paul proposed to Nancy with a 3-carrot ring--literally, he stuck 3 carrots to the bottom of a box in the shape of a ring and asked her to marry him, promising a real ring later.  So cute!

Jeremy arrived this morning at my parents' house.  He brought Caeden's new glasses.  Caed is pretty excited about having transition lenses!

Grandpa reminded us that Paul always said, "Life is short; eat dessert first!"
and he got the dessert line going while the meal was served.

The boys are always super excited to see their Uncle Jeremy.  He even got a hug from Tony.

Later in the afternoon, I thought it was so sweet when Grayson wanted to read on his own, and Tessa wanted to read to Bryce.  They are all good readers!

Jeremy took the girls to Fort Wayne to find Annah a swimsuit. As we were getting ready to go to the 'Busco park to watch Grayson's and Bryce's baseball game, Annah asked if I would bring her sunglasses.  I sent her this as  a reply...
I bet she was a little bit sorry she asked.

Everybody said goodbye to Uncle Jeremy before bedtime, since he would be going back home early in the morning.

What in the world?

It doesn't seem like November.  Tuesday, November 1, it reached 82 degrees!  I'm ok with that!

This week, I decided to create a blog to go on my business website that will be for my crochet stuff--whether it is for sale or not.  It will be linked on my website, but it is also found directly at: http://blog.craftedwithcare.boutique 

Last night, our family watched the Cubs play the Indians in the final game of the World Series.  Jeremy went to bed sometime between 9 and 10, because he says the Cubs always start to lose when he watched and he didn't want to be held responsible for jinxing them.  The girls went to bed around 10 pm, just because they're not really baseball fans and they were tired.

Caeden and I watched the rest of the game, and it was incredible!  It's hard to believe the Cubs actually won, but it was a nail-biting, super exciting game to watch!

July 4

This morning at church, we were reminded of the freedoms we have in our country, but more importantly, the freedom we have in Christ!

Jeremy and Sylvia played a game of Aggravation this afternoon.

Sylvia helped Gram get things ready for the supper gathering this evening.

Grillmaster Jeremy took care of the meat.

 

Annah was an anti-social teenager on her phone while everyone else swam and visited.  Just kidding..really, she wasn't feeling well, and just happened to be looking at her phone at this moment when I snapped the picture.  

Somehow, Jeremy ended up being the only adult in the pool with 6 kids after supper.  The kids were entertained and kept safe.

We had another fun game of wiffleball!

These were some of our bases--old frisbees from my dad's career in the photo industry during my childhood!  It was kinda neat to see that they're still around.

We had s'mores with giant marshmallows, mmm!

Erin went to get Trav's headband light so he could see to light the fireworks for his show.

Everyone enjoyed the fireworks, except Bryce.  I took him inside to get away from the loud scary booms.  

We had such a wonderful day and celebration!
