Halloween Annah's Birthday Snow

Today was Annah's 19th birthday!

Here she is seen celebrating on SnapChat.

She bought an angel food cake pan and a Funfetti mix and baked her self a birthday cake.  Her roommate Tori also celebrates a birthday this week, so they threw themselves a party.  I love that!  It is tech week here, so I was lucky to get to chat with her over text for a bit today.

Also, we had some early snow today!

Keep in mind that we have yet to replace our furnace that died in the flood last May, so a windchill of 12 degrees also feels pretty chilly inside our house! 

Sylvia took this pic of the football field at school today.  We ended up with a little over an inch of snow, but it was also windy and the roads drifted into a horrible dangerous mess!

Oh hey, we were under a boil order for a week.  Ugggg.

I got a Snap from Annah Friday night while she and Allison were attending a play at Greenville!

This afternoon/evening I went up to the school and started painting the flats and doors on the set. I'll have to go back tomorrow, but hopefully Sylvia and Caeden will go with me.  There are 9 flats up, and I have to come up with something that will look like chair rail. So, it's a lot of painting. 

These doors were blue for Mamma Mia, and I painted over the blue (which was already over many other coats) to make them brown for our restaurant.

While I was painting, Sylvia and her friends were getting ready for the youth group Halloween party and Haunted Mansion at the Alvis' historic manor.  The family ministries team has been preparing and rehearsing all week!

They decided to go as scarecrows, and did such cute makeup!

Isabella, Sophia, and Briley got ready at our house with Sylvia.

Jeremy drove them to the party, where RJ and Alexis met them.  Reports were that the haunted house was really scary, and they had tons of fun!

Caeden wanted to spend the evening at home relaxing and refueling.

Halloween Rehearsal

Rehearsal was a little strange tonight.  A student contacted me during the school day and asked if they could wear Halloween costumes instead of their show costumes during rehearsal tonight since they wouldn't be able to go trick-or-treating.  I was honestly exhausted and grouchy, so I asked Jeremy what he thought of the idea.  He said, "What could it hurt?" so the kids got to wear costumes.  It made for some odd pictures!

A Hershey bar narrator

Ryleigh came straight from cheer practice in Lexington to her scene on stage--hence her cheerleading shorts and winter coat.

Iggy the bookie was dressed in army safety gear tonight.

Our George and Martha were instead a Hershey bar (Keegan plays 2 parts) and Rosie the Riveter.

The scene at Madame's house may be the toughest scene of the show.  It's about 13 minutes long and has been moving very slowly.  

Sylvia looks so gorgeous in my junior prom dress for her Edie Buffet character.

Some of the kids found some random costume pieces around the stage this evening for some extra fun since they didn't bring Halloween costumes.  I don't even know what to call Kyle's getup!

Celebrating another run through/rehearsal

The students running lights are doing an awesome job of working out some difficult timing to have a cool spotlight effect on Annah several times in the show.

We ended rehearsal fairly early this evening, so maybe some of them got a few minutes of trick-or-treating in? 

Halloween Party on Friday the 13th

On Wednesday, after rehearsal, we went to town and met Jeremy at the Halloween store. He bought costumes for Sylvia and her friends and for Caeden too.

Tonight, Zac and Lyndsey threw an awesome Halloween Party for the youth group.  When we arrived and drove back their long winding driveway, there was a body bag hanging over!

Sylvia's friends Alexis and Isabella came to the party!  They were the cutest pink ladies!!!

Shelby came with us after rehearsal!  She was an adorable witch, and Annah was happy to wear her street urchin costume she wore in Little Shop of Horrors last spring.

There was a great turnout!

An incredible haunted trail was set up in the woods for the kids to go through in small groups.  This is crew of haunters, who came inside at the end of the party to reveal themselves:

Jeremy enjoyed hiding and haunting, I think!

I ordered a strawberry filled cake to share for Caeden's birthday.

He was really surprised and happy to get to celebrate with his youth group friends.
