Love at home

Although the weekend included Variety Show and wrestling Regionals, we actually had more time with the 5 of us at home than we have all year, I think!  Jeremy has been working really long days, including Saturdays, but there may be a little reprieve for a while.  Friday night he brought home pizza and we all ate supper together!!!  He even sat down and played a little Wii with Annah and Caeden.  It was just wonderful to be home enjoying each other's company.  I love these moments the most!

 After the Variet Show, Morgan came home with us and spent the night.  She went to church with us on Sunday while the boys went to wrestling regionals with her family.  We love having Morgan around!

I don't have any photos of Caeden at regionals, but Coach Dad says he wrestling really well.  He was .5 pounds over the limit of the weight class he's been in all season, so he wrestled up a class.  He had some matches against really tough wrestlers, and though he lost, he did well.  That's the end of the season for him, and we are proud of him for working hard--especially these last few weeks--and learning and improving and growing good relationships with his teammates.

Variety Show

This weekend Annah's high school put on a variety show.  

Jacob was one of the very funny hosts.  He said this dress was quite comfortable.  I asked him if he should be churning butter or something??

Annah was a little tired, Thursday night at rehearsal, but her friends were there to support her.

It was fun to watch while the students prepared and rehearsed.  

 They are a great team.

When we arrived Saturday afternoon for the dress rehearsal, Mr. Wyant had rented a red carpet (to go along with the Oscars theme for the show). After all the setting up was finished, Alex vacuumed.

 The hosts for this year were Lauren, Rachel, and Jacob.  This is the 10th year of Variety Show, which was started to raise money for a theatre scholarship in memory of 2 RHS students who were killed in a tragic car accident. Lauren and Rachel are the sisters of one of those students, so it was extra special to have them as hosts.  All 3 did a great job hosting.

Allison (who is one of my voice students) opened the show with an original song called "The Light" she wrote for her mom.  Her brother Ryan sang with her. 

Kendall and Fallon did a great job with an intense and sad skit called 2 Truths and a Lie. 

Kasey always looks beautiful and sings very well.  She did a great mashup of her 3 favorite songs.

Michael and Kaitlyn's skit was very funny!

A few weeks ago, when it came time for auditions, Annah asked me if I would sing with her.  I was so incredibly honored that she wanted me to be part of her performance, and we had a wonderful time  preparing and sharing "I Will Never Leave You" from the musical Sideshow. 

And, our dear Addie closed the show with Don't Rain On My Parade.

What a fun time!  Proud of Annah and all of the students involved, and grateful to Mr. Wyant and Ms. Barnes for all their work making it happen!
