We awoke this morning ready to get out of the hotel and on the road. We got some sleep, but won't be stopping in this town again. Jeremy noticed a sign on the front desk this morning that stated their policy of not allowing people whose living address is within 50 miles of the hotel to stay there. That makes ya a li'l suspicious. We won't talk about the substances we saw [but did NOT inspect] in our room! Ok, time to move on!!!
8:23am - Still trying to capture how much this cliff freaked me out...This is from the ledge where our car was parked last night! (After we came back from Wendy's, I begged Jeremy to park up next to the building instead!!!)
8:43am - We didn't get very far before stopping for Starbucks.

9:42am - It was rainy this morning, and we thoroughly enjoyed traveling through the misty mountains! We even turned on the Misty Mountains song from the Lord of the Rings/Hobbit movie and put it on repeat and sang a long for a good while.

6:20pm - All 5 of us still in the car together...We arrived at the coast...and we are all still alive!
This morning when we set out, we were hoping to stay in the Virginia Beach area, but as I searched hotel rooms, there was absolutely nothing available this last minute. While searching online, I found a room at the Ramada Plaza by Wyndham in Nags Head, just a little ways from the house where we'll be staying the rest of the week, so we booked a room for tonight. We knew the hotel was right on the beach, but when we arrived and checked in, we were told that we'd been upgraded to a beachfront room! NICE!!!
6:29pm - Carrying our bags up to the room through the lovely lobby...Caeden was totally entranced by the fountains.

We decided to eat on the deck at the hotel tiki bar on the beach.
Annah had a hard time [because of her knee injury] getting in and out of the really tall chairs, so Sylvia and I had to help her in and out.
There was live music in the bar.
Seriously amazed by these fountains...
Jeremy was having a hankering for some homemade ice cream, so we walked across the street later to a tiny little pizza and ice cream place called American Pie OBX. There was a line out the door at past their posted closing time, but they kept serving. The ice cream was scrumptious!!!
It was a long journey to get here, but a wonderful day. We will rest well tonight, so grateful!
