The Lord brought this hymn to my mind this evening as I was getting ready for bed.  I looked it up to help me remember all the words.  I love how it was written long ago, yet the words are still so timely.

It is still hot enough that Caeden is sleeping on the air mattress in the girls' room so he can be in air conditioning.  Not ideal, but it actually makes me smile seeing them tucked into their beds all in a row.  Of course they did not want their picture taken, but I did it anyway.

Really relaxed

Caeden was in a deep sleep by the time I got to his room to tuck him in tonight.  We have seen him in some strange positions when he sleeps, but this was a new one.

JH Solo/Ensemble Day

I had the privilege of helping prepare several 7th and 8th grade students for vocal solo/ensemble contest  this month.  Some are my private voice students, but most of them I just rehearsed with a few times at the school when I was there volunteering with the choirs.   Today I accompanied several solos and duets at the contest, and it was a fantastic time. It is one of my favorite musical days of the year, and they all did so well!  I was very proud of each of the students; they all had great attitudes, did their best, and also scored very well.  They represented our school well in every way, and I was so pleased!

I was so completely exhausted when I got home though!  I totally fell asleep on the couch at about 6:30! The kids tucked me in bed tonight, and even read me a story!  They're all great readers, and I loved hearing them read The Cat in the Hat Comes Back so much that they even read it to me a second time!

Caeden stayed in bed with me all night, sprawled across the bed so much that there wasn't room for Daddy when he came home from setting up for church.  (I don't think he even knew though, since he fell asleep on the couch watching movies.)  Love my sweet kiddos.

Sharing a room

The girls are doing surprisingly well with sharing a room! (This is just one more example of proof that prayer works!) Sylvia cries for a few moments after we put her in her crib (which isn't anything new), but she and Annah have both slept through the night quietly for the past two nights. The only thing is that Annah wakes up earlier than Sylvia is used to, so she's getting a little less sleep right now. We're not even attempting naptime in the same room, because Annah doesn't actually do much sleeping at naptime these days. She is getting to rest in Mommy & Daddy's room for naptime, and Sylvia is doing just fine napping in the "new" room. Yesterday, I moved all of Sylvie's clothes, and today her toys, into the shared room. So, now, the baby will get its own room!

Annah started preschool yesterday. I am kicking myself because my rechargeable digital camera batteries died just as I turned on the camera to take her picture with her backpack all ready to go to school. It takes 13 hours to recharge them, and I didn't have film for the regular camera either. Aargh! I did do a little video interview with her, which was really sweet. I guess I'll have to take pictures of "Annah's 2nd Day of School."

Sylvia's new favorite word is, "NO!" She is using it frequently these days, directed at any one of us, especially her sister, from whom she learned the word!

It's wake-up time!

They don't look convinced, do they?!

Like Last Time

At least now we know we're having a March baby, and not a February one.  So much for Jeremy's prediction of us not making it past mid-February. ;)  I would honestly really love to have the baby on the due date, Monday 03/03/03.   That would be really cool.  But, obviously if it doesn't happen that way, it's okay.

I didn't sleep well last night.  I think it was partially because I took a long nap yesterday afternoon, and partially because I was worried about what my labor would be like if I have to be induced.  I know my doctor is going to try to sway me to be, but so far I feel strongly that I shouldn't.  I hope I will go into labor on my own before my appointment with her on Tuesday.  Like last time would be ideal...

With Annah, my water broke around 12:30 am.  I was sleeping downstairs on the couch because I was too big and miserable to sleep in the bed.  I woke up and thought I had been asleep for several hours until I looked at the clock and realized it had only been two.  I went to the bathroom, and kept going and going...   I didn't feel like I was going, though.  I went back and lay down for a minute and realized I was still "going."  Then I figured out that my water had broken and was just trickling out.

I went upstairs and tried to wake Jeremy and tell him, but I couldn't get him to wake up and hear me.  So, I went back down and lay on the couch again for about 45 minutes.  I ended up back in the bathroom, and my water just kept trickling.  I finally clogged the toilet with a bunch of toilet paper, so I had to go upstairs again.  I told Jeremy that I knew he didn't care that I was in labor, but that I had clogged the toilet and he may want to fix it.  He said, "Whatever."  He was in such a sound sleep!!

So, I laid down next to him and started talking to him and asking him questions to get him to respond to me and wake up.  After a while I said something about "when my water broke" and he immediately was awake--about an hour and a half after my water broke!  (This time, I will not be so gentle.  If he's asleep when it happens, I WILL wake him up--somehow!)   He bounced out of bed and got our notes from our Labor & Deliver class to remind himself what we needed to do.  He called the doctor, who told me we could go to the hospital then or in the morning.

So, we both showered; I made PBJ's for him, called Mom, finished packing, etcetera.  We made it to the hospital around 4:30 AM, and Annah wasn't born until noon.

I hope my water breaks again this time.  At least then I know it's time to go!

Feeling Uncomfortable

I thought our Labor & Delivery Expectations Review class was supposed to be tonight.  Then I noticed yesterday that the pamphlet said Monday, January 21st.  I called and found out it is actually happening on the 21st, which is tomorrow--Tuesday.  I'm really looking forward to going!!

I have developed a not-so-lovely, not-so-comfy "side effect" of pregnancy which has been really bugging me over the past several days.   Now, I am concerned if it is going to affect my labor/delivery.  I guess I will have to talk to Dr. W about it Thursday at my appointment.

I'm having trouble sleeping all the way through the night now.   Part of that might be because I slept in the guestroom the past 3 nights since Jeremy is sick.  It is really hard to turn over though; I just can't do it in my sleep.  So, I have to halfway wake up just to switch sides.  A genuinely comfortable position is virtually nonexistent these days.

A new "old" neighbor

Annah is still jabbering away. Her favorites right now are "bye bye" and "dada."

She has now learned to put her stacking rings back ON the stacker! And, she knows to be excited when she puts one one too!

We started a class called "Growing Kids God's Way" at church last night. It will last 18 or 19 weeks. We are really excited about it, and hope it will help us become better parents.

And, the town of Arrowsmith will soon have a new resident! Our friend Kevin (whom Jeremy lived with in Newark, Ohio) recently accepted a position at SF's Corporate Office. He came to town on his house-hunting trip last week, and found a gorgeous old house right here in Arrowsmith! So, we are very excited that Kevin will be our close neighbor again soon. He'll even be staying with us for a while when he starts his job before he'll close on his house! Welcome to town Kevin! Congrats!
