Zoo!

Tuesday,  June 28,  2005 - We went to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo!

This orangutan was pondering something very serious while we were looking at him!

Sylvia went on a pony ride!

All the girls really wanted to do at the zoo was ride in the "zebra cars!"

Father's Day

Caeden just went from crawling around on his belly to sitting up all by himself!

Sit Up! and Braids!

Okay, I take back what I wrote the other day about Caeden not really being able to sit up... He can sit up, he just doesn't really care to. But, today, when I sat him down on the floor, he actually straightened himself out and sat up straight. It wasn't long before he bent over and got himself back on his tummy, but it was evident that he really can sit up if he wants to!

8 months old

Wednesday, June 15, 2005 - Caeden is 8 months old today! Look at all of his new teeth! 

 He's growing so fast!!

Caeden got tooth #7 today! Poor little guy; he's getting them all at once! He has been a tiny bit fussy about it at times, but is really doing well with it. His personality is starting to shine through! He is so happy almost all the time! He just loves to have fun and smile and laugh! He has little interest in learning to sit upright on his own though--he wants to scoot around! He's getting better at sitting, but just won't stay there.

Annah and Sylvia have lately taken to pretending that the bottom steps are their "car." They travel to their favorite places (church, Carlene's house, gymnastics) and back home over and over again. They take toys and random items that they pretend are other things with them and make frequent stops to get gas.

Tuesday, June 14, 2005 - Annah doing a fake cry that made her daddy crack up!!!

Jeremy rode 80 miles on his bike this morning. His most frequent comment the rest of the day has been, "Driving makes more sense!"

Last night Jeremy and I got to go on a date! All by ourselves!  For one of the few times since well before Caeden was born! We were in such a state of shock, we didn't know what to do! We had a nice time though. I finally got to go see Jeremy's new work area, and meet a few of his very nice coworkers. We ate dinner at a great Chinese restaurant, and went to a few other places.

Caeden did get tooth number six yesterday! When he went to the doctor on Monday, he weighed 19 pounds, 1 ounce. He now says, "Ma ma ma," "Gah," and other sounds. He is starting to get a little personality on him! He's such a happy, content little guy all the time.

Summer Stuff

Caeden carries on what now seems to be a "family tradition?" of creative super-saucering.

Growing Boy

Caeden had another tooth pop through today! It's one of his top middle ones. And, the other top middle one is going to be busting through any second. He's going to have a mouthful of teeth here in a few days!

Caeden also started playing peek-a-boo all by himself today! He was in his super-saucer, and he had his crawling caterpillar on the tray part, and he hid his face behind his caterpillar and put his arm over his eyes, then popped his face up and grinned and giggled! It as too precious!
He is saying, "Dada" and "Baba" all the time now, and has even said "Dada" on command.

Caeden likes to look out the front door when it's open and see what's going on outside.

Hot June Summertime

It's hot! Summer is definitely here in central Illinois! Ugh. Now I remember why I love spring and fall so much! Summer and winter are just too extreme for me. ;)

Caeden got a fourth tooth last week! He now has four through. He has his bottom middle two, one right next to those, and then one on top right above that (outside) one! He sure is a happy little guy. It just seems like he smiles all the time. We are very grateful for his cheerful disposition! :)

Annah and Sylvia were ecstatic (to say the least) to get to swim in their pool today! Summer definitely arrived on the 1st of June at our house this year!

Daddy had the great idea of putting the side up to the pool, so the girls had their own water slide!

Caeden isn't quite big enough to join his sisters in the pool yet, but he got to watch them from his blanket.

New Summer Adventures

Annah started taking gymnastics today. We signed her up for a 4-week session, and she goes once a week for 50 minutes. Today there were only 2 other students in her class. She loved it!! And, she was so brave; she tried everything the teacher asked her to. She was a bit distracted by all of the other classes going on in the gym at the same time, but we can't blame her; the big kids can do some cool stuff! We get to watch from an upstairs room with big windows. Annah made sure to look up for our approval after every trick she learned, and we were amazed at what she could do--especially when she held herself up on the bar all on her own!!

Caeden doesn't like the sun in his eyes, but he likes wearing his hat even less.

Annah and Sylvia love to pretend that they are dropping off and picking up each other at school and gymnastics in their little cozy coupe.
