Annah's not-so-little shoes

I can't seem to locate the picture anywhere now, but when Annah was very little, Jeremy took a picture of her tiny white pair of shoes sitting on one of the bottom stairs waiting to be taken up.  He said he saw them sitting there and thought about all her future pairs of shoes that would sit there as she grew up in this house.  

Of course, her shoes have been accompanied by many other pairs in this spot over the years--sometimes several pairs at a time, and siblings' shoes too, of course.  

Tonight, I was going up to bed and noticed there was only one pair--Annah's everyday Converse.  

Her daddy has bought her at least 1-3 pairs of Converse over the past several years, and they're her go-to favorites. This year, she has this rose colored pair, and pair of navy ones with white polka dots and gold eyelets.  

She has been blessed to walk and grow up in so many pairs of shoes, and I've told her a zillion times to take them up the stairs.  

I'm sure about this time next year, I will be wishing she had a pair of shoes sitting on the stairs waiting to go up.

The party continues

This morning, the girls slept until 7:30-8:00-ish.  I made pumpkin french toast with cinnamon cream cheese topping for breakfast, and they got up to eat.  After that, they made caramel apples, and started getting ready to go home.

Sara's mom picked her up, and while I got myself around, these guys played a little Just Dance 4.

Annah and I dropped off Jillian and Emma at their houses, then went on our way for her shopping day!  Sylvia texted us regularly from home, where she and Caeden were.  (Jeremy was helping with a roofing project at the holiness association's campground.)  Annah sent this picture to Sylvia...

We had lunch at Moe's!  "Welcome to Moe's!"  We love Moe's!!!  

We don't know who that dude next to us is though.

We had success shopping at Target, where Annah found several tops.  Yay!  That is what she needed most.  

Then we went to Shoe Carnival so Annah could look at Converse.  Daddy recently bought some for Sylvia, and didn't know Annah wanted some too.  She tried on several pair and we texted pictures to Sylvia for her opinion...

This pair had 5 tongues!  We thought they were cool, but they didn't have Annah's size.

This pair had two separate layers to lace up...too much work, Annah decided.

It was tough to decide!

These felt the best.

Now the girls are "shoe twinsies."

We stopped at Old Navy, but I was getting too tired.  We went home.  I took a nap!  The kids practiced and relaxed the rest of the afternoon.

This evening we went to school for the high school play.  In the hallway we saw the monsters the girls made in their advisory classes this past week.  Sylvia did a lot of work on the initial design part of her group's, though she says it didn't turn out much like it was supposed to.

Annah's class' monster won the prize for 8th grade.  She was pretty excited about that when she got home from school yesterday.

The play was well done.  I could tell the cast and crew enjoyed preparing and performing it and worked well together.  We thought it was pretty funny, and enjoyed seeing our favorite high schoolers on stage!

Random New Stuff

So, I think this post will be pretty random.  It's okay, right?  

My hubby bought me new boots last weekend.  I admire the ladies that can wear the tall boots up to or past their knees, but I am too short and fat for that.  But, I finally found some that were taller than the short boots!  These mid-calf boots were on sale at Macy's.  (I normally don't even like to go in there, but Jeremy made me.  And he was right.)  They are pretty comfy too, actually, and don't make my entire body hurt from wearing them!  Yay!

I got a new mirror to put in the music room where I teach!  I like for my students to be able to watch themselves so we can correct certain postures and things when they sing.  It's a cheapy mirror I got on Amazon, but it looks much nicer and is much more functional than the unmounted flat wall-mount mirror I've had since my parents bought it for me from K-Mart the day I moved into my college freshman dorm! ;)  (No offense to my parents or K-Mart!)  

Oh, you can also see the nifty wall clock (behind my head) that I bought myself in November 50% off for $25 at Hobby Lobby.  It doesn't really even look like a clock, which is a plus.  And, it matches the chandelier and curtain rods and holdbacks.  It's been really nice to have right over the piano, and helps me stay on time with each lesson better.

 I took all these pictures trying to get a decent one of the purple poncho I'm wearing.  I made it for myself, which is new!  It's new that I crocheted for myself, and new that I tried making a poncho.  

Michaels had tons of this great chunky yarn on sale after the holidays.  It was $2.50 a skein, and it took me 4 1/2 skeins to make the poncho...much cheaper than I could have bought one in a store!  And, this pattern was free and so easy I even got a little bored making it.  But, I like wearing it!  It's so warm and cozy!  It's kinda like a homemade Snuggie.  Haha...okay, don't make fun!

I was thinking about taking a closer up photo of my hair to show my new haircut, but it's kind of a bad hair day.  So that will have to wait.

New Shoes

Sylvia and Annah got new shoes! Sylvia's are her first very own "blinks" (by her request), and they have princess castles on them! And, Annah's have blinky lights and a special "magic" wand that makes her right shoe make a magical sound when she waves it over it!! They are super cool and very pretty and girly!
