Only 4 for supper

I asked Caeden to set the table for supper tonight, and turned around from the stove to see he'd set it for 5 people.  I asked him how many people live in the house that were going to be eating supper tonight, and he sat down and made this pouty face when he realized Annah wouldn't be here.  He does miss his big sis!!!

Mac Scholars

Annah had a special induction ceremony this evening for McAllaster Scholars (the Honors Program), and she got all prettied up for it.

Sure do miss our girl, but so glad she loves it at Greenville and sends us pictures, Snaps, and texts!

Homecoming Dance

The whole crew went to dinner at Chili's.  Jeremy and I dropped Caeden and Sam off there and went to Portillo's, Best Buy, and Meijer, then picked them up and took them to the dance.  

About an hour into the dance, I got this text...

If there ever was a kid who wouldn't be embarrassed by splitting his pants at a dance, it's Caeden, and I'm so glad he just laughed it off!

After the dance, most of the crew came back to our house, including Will after dropping his date off.  I made them pancakes, and they watched Goonies.  Jeremy stayed up to drive any of them home that were young enough to have a driving curfew, but they had worked it out to get everyone home safely.

They all had fun, and I'm so grateful the kids have such nice classmates and friends!

Last minute shopping

We bought Sylvia a dress for homecoming back on Labor Day Weekend at a really cool store (Altar'd State) at the mall in St. Louis, but it was long and really funky.  She got cold feet, and decided not to wear it for the dance tonight, so we made a very last minute trip to Von Maur to find her something more like the typical thing girls are wearing for homecoming right now.  

As we were driving down Veteran's Parkway, the windshield on the Soul cracked. No rock.  Just cracked.  That'll be $100+ later this week.

Sylvia tried on about 12 dresses, and these were the top 3.  She chose the black one.  You can never have too many little black dresses, right?! 

Sylvia's friend Briley came over and went to Von Maur with us, then got ready for the dance with Sylvia.  Briley wore Sylvia's homecoming dress from last year and looked so cute in it!  She also has an older sister who has moved away, so the girls enjoyed being "stand-in sisters."  I'm so glad they're friends. And 

Cross Country

Caeden had a cross country meet at Herscher (Limestone Park) today.  Jeremy went to watch and cheer him on.

Homecoming Game

It was a beautiful night for the Homecoming game!

Midnight Blues sang the anthem.

Ready for the halftime show...

Annah and Ryan were home for just a bit.  They were able to have pizza with us before the game, see other friends who'd come back for homecoming, then left before the game wrapped up.  It was great to get to have them here for a tiny while.  

The game didn't go so well, but it was a lovely night regardless.

Pep Rally

I was subbing today, so I got to go to the pep rally.  The band played!
