Another "Princess Sylvia" look...

Allergic to Spring?!?! Are you kidding me?

Apparently, I am allergic to spring!? I don't mean, sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose kind of allergic...I mean broken out in hives that spread into what the doctor called an "inflamation" allergic. Last Saturday evening, I was sitting on the couch watching TV and noticed I was getting itchy. I realized I was breaking out in hives. Now, I do this every so often--usually a couple times a year, and usually don't figure out what causes it. Well, I waited it out all week, and it would get a little better, but in the evenings and morning I would be all covered in hives. It just kept getting worse and worse. So, I went to PromtCare this last night and the doc said it's probably the change of season. He put me on two different kinds of antihistimines as well as Prednisone and advised me to get an allergy test. I suppose it's time since this has been happening to me all my life. Most of the hives are gone this morning, so the meds are already working.

Cat Play

This morning, Annah and Ashley put on their little play about cats that they made up last night. They made masks for themselves, nametags with their cat names, and used bathrobe ties for tails. The performance was short and sweet, but so cute. I just loved that they came up with the whole idea and did it all themselves. So creative and adorable.

Slumber Party!!!!!

There is a very girly slumber party happening at our house tonight! It has included best friends, pizza, pajamas, pillow fights, sleeping bags, Barbie Fairytopia Mermadia movie, silly stories, practicing for a play, giggles, silliness, and tons of fun. We always love having Ashley over for a slumber party!

After about an hour of the 3 girls camped out on the living room floor trying to get to sleep, Sylvia had to go sleep in her own bed because she was being too ornery and not sleeping.

Visiting Daddy at State Farm

Today was our running around in town day. We visited Daddy at work! We hadn't done that in about a year! The kids thought his spinning chair was fun, and loved that everyone wanted to give them candy!























Then the kids and I went to a park. They played on the playground and we had a picnic lunch too! Caeden went down the slide on his tummy head-first every time. I was surprised he didn't fly off the end and crash in the mulch, but he was fine every time. Annah managed to get a huge scratch on her tummy the one time she tried it though. Figures.




























We did some shoe shopping at a few stores without much luck, and then got huge McD's milkshakes before heading home. Fun day!

First Bike Rides

When Annah and Sylvia and I got home from church today (Daddy stayed home with Caeden, who had a fever.), Daddy was putting together the girls' bikes!!! After lunch they took them out for their very first bike rides!

Seeing their grins and struggles and watching Jeremy help them was awesome. They went out again this evening too.

We had SUCH a good time with Krampa & Gram this weekend! We're so glad they could visit! We love you Gram & Krampa!!

Fresh air play!

I don't know if it's here to stay yet or not, but we are having some very nice spring weather right now. We were all so excited to play outside for a bit today! We picked up twigs in the yard, got out ride-on toys, climbed trees, and just enjoyed breathing the fresh air!

Spring always makes me want to praise the Lord; I'm so grateful for nice weather!

Sylvia's BIG bed!!!

Gram & Krampa brought Sylvia a wonderful, wonderful gift--her very own, brand new, beautiful big-girl bed!
Daddy & Krampa put it together for her this morning. She couldn't be more thrilled.
It's a very beautiful bed!--And, very high up; she has to use a step-stool to get up into it!
She says it is her princess bed.

Of course, her siblings are excited about it too!

Gram's here!

Gram & Krampa are here for the weekend! They arrived this afternoon. We went to the Ozark House for dinner, and came home for ice cream.

Already, lots of stories have been read repeatedly.

Gram brought the kids outfits she made them for Easter!! Aren't they precious!?!?

I mean, what could be better for a train-loving kid than to be covered in shiny Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends stickers?!?! Not much!!

Tooth Fairy!

This is the little envelope Annah's teacher gave her to make at school the day after her tooth became loose. She has been carefully protecting it, waiting to put her tooth in it for the Tooth Fairy. Annah told us that the Tooth Fairy is the only real fairy.

I woke Annah up this morning with my camera in hand. She was sure the Tooth Fairy had come even before she checked under her pillow, though she said she didn't see her. Daddy came in to see Annah's exciting treasure! The tooth fairy left her $2.00! One was a "golden" dollar, so Annah was right about the tooth fairy leaving gold for her! The rest was 4 quarters.

Jeremy thought being the Tooth Fairy was pretty cool. ;)

Yep! Today was the magical day! Annah lost her first tooth!


Annah thinks the tooth fairy will bring her gold! And, according to Annah, the tooth fairye gives the lost teeth she collects to the babies, and that's how babies get their teeth!

weekend stuffs

Lots o' little activities going on with the Lopshire fam this weekend...

-Last night Annah and I had a date night. Per her request, we went to Monical's Pizza (my fav!) in Gibson City to use up one of her free pizza coupons she earned through her school's family reading program. (For kindergarten, if they are read to for ten minutes 20 days out of the month, they receive the coupon. Annah has received 5 coupons, and this was the first we've used up!)
It was really fun just to spend time hanging out and talking with Annah one-on-one without interruptions. She just amazes me--everything about the person she is amazes me. I love her so much.
After we ate we went to ALCO and shopped around. We picked out some dollar candies--Dots for her, Good 'n' Plenty for me, and Pull 'n' Peel Twizzlers for Daddy. And, I was jump-up-and-down-excited to find the 1985 TV movie Alice in Wonderland has finally been released on DVD!!! (When this was on when I was a kid, Mom & Dad taped it, and I must have watched it once a week for months! This was around the time where I started having trouble sleeping, and they thought it was probably because of the scary Jabberwocky in the movie. I later realized it was because I was afraid someone was going to break into our house.--A friend's house and a relatives house had break-ins around that time, and they lived near us.) Anyway...LOVE this movie, and am so excited to have it on DVD!

-Today Jeremy and I gave blood at the Arrowsmith blood drive! J hadn't given in several years, and I never had. He did fine, and it didn't phase him a bit. I did okay, but got a bit woozy during the process. I've been a little funky all day, actually, so I guess I'm just a wimp. I'm super glad I could do it though.

-Annah has had a fever today, so our plans for having a sitter tonight were foiled. Jeremy went to a surprise 30th b-day party for a co-worker/friend by himself tonight, and the kids are hanging here with me and watching the Wiggles.

Sylvia's 4-year Portraits

Sylvia had her 4-year portraits taken at Sears today! We think they turned out lovely! She was a happy girl, loved getting all fancied up--of course, and had lots of fun being the center of attention for her pictures. It was fun all around! And now we have these treasures...

Train Chuggin' Through

This cute little train came chugging through the kitchen tonight while I was making supper. Can't explain just how much I love seeing all the kids playing together and having fun!!! After the train, they played ring-around-the-rosie. So neat that it was all their idea.

kids say...

Just so you know, we don't think our kids are perfect. Our kids say and do some really annoying things sometimes. And they drive us up a wall sometimes. But, I don't like to remember those times, so I usually don't include them here.

Today was Sylvia's day to celebrate her birthday at school. This includes bringing birthday snacks (She chose lofthouse cookies with pink icing and sprinkles.), getting to be line-leader (always an exciting honor), receiving a book from her teachers (SO nice!!), and having Mommy come to school to read the day's book to the class. Well, months ago Sylvia decided she wanted me to come sing songs with her class instead of reading a book. So, that's what we did.

She chose two songs she wanted me to sing. Blow The Balloon, which we learned from Mr. Rogers. And, The Lollipop Tree, which I learned in elementary music class. These are two songs we sing around home, and Sylvie thought they would be fun for her class. They did seem to enjoy them, and I certainly had fun singing with them! We took lollipops to give the kids too.

Meanwhile, Caeden was going all over the preschool getting into things and being VERY distracting. (Now, maybe he wasn't all that distracting to the kids, but he was making me crazy!) The teachers were very understanding and patient with him, but I reached a point where I drug him out of the school, and we sat in the car for the next half hour waiting for the end of school.

I wasn't yelling at him, but he knew he was being naughty. As we were going out, he said, "Momma, I am a good boy now!"

Yeah. Sure.

A little more birthday...

We had a little more cake and ice cream for Sylvia' birthday tonight at home with just the 5 of us--on Sylvia's actual birthDAY. Sylvia chose strawberry cake with chocolate icing.

Sylvie wasn't sure what this gift was! It's a fruit-a-hoop! (That's why she's smelling it!)

A toy Barbie radio with pretend CD's, tapes, and a microphone. She was excited about this one!

Sylvia also received: her very own first Bible, a twin-size sheet set, an Angelina Ballerina movie, two Dr. Seuss books, a glittery lava-lamp type nightlight, a toy princess flip-phone.

Poor little girl hasn't felt well for a few days, so the smiles have been a little scarce. We ended up spending the entire evening at home, so hopefully the rest will do her well.

This little one is such a gift in our lives. We can never thank the Lord enough for her!
