Back at PC

Tonight we were back at Prairie Central for more JH wrestling.  Jeremy's HS team is officially done with their season now, so he was able to come to this meet.  He helped coach and took stats.

Caeden wrestled at 100 tonight.  Coach put him up against a tough opponent for some good experience.

He caught me taking pictures...the ham!

Haha! When you take time to smile at mom for a picture, your teammate will put your face in the mat!

Coming together before the meet starts...

Go team!

After warming up, Caeden looks like he's already wrestled a match!

Hearing from coach before heading to the mats...

Billy is 80 pounds of you-do-not-want-to-step-on-the-mat-with-me.

Brayden M quickly put his 75 pound opponent in a position he did not want to be in! A pin/win for Ridgeview!

The usual for Billy--a pin/win!

Brayden C also got a win!

The matches were going very quickly with both mats running at the same time.  This is Nathan D on the left and Conner on the right.

 Caeden's match getting started...

Trying to get that takedown...

2 points, green!

The match was tied 5-5, and Caeden gave his opponent a point through a locked hands violation and lost.

I think only 4 Ridgeview kids had wins against Chiddix JH.  It was a rough round.  Coach T had some things to say to the team afterward.

We wrestled Prairie Central again, but only the kids who didn't have matches against them last week did tonight.

Michael had a quick pin for the win!

Alex with a win!

 Nathan C with a win!

 Coby on the mat!

Coby remains undefeated!

Evan gets a pin for a win!

Oh what a night!

Happy Valentine's Day!

As usual, my mom was on the ball with Valentine's Day and sent the kids a cute handmade Valentine from Arizona.  They love the fact that she keeps the tradition of sending them a valentine, and think it is fun to open!

This year, Gram made them a valentine of themselves! So cute!

Thank you Gram and Krampa!  We love you!

I supposed Valentine's Day/week wasn't very "romantic" around here.  We have been running to all kinds of wrestling meets, keeping up on music lessons and practicing, homework, sleep, and other priorities. And, last week, we had a septic clog that kept us without use of a toilet in the house for 3 days...at the same time that our washing machine broke.  We tried everything we could to try to fix the septic clog on our own, but didn't have time to rent the equipment needed to do it.  So, between having the tank pumped and paying septic plumbers to get the job done, that was a fun time. And when the total to fix the washer came in over $400, we decided to get a new one.  Jeremy and I scrambled to a few places on Sunday afternoon to look at washers, and he chose one that was delivered yesterday.  He and Caeden got it to the basement, and Jeremy hooked it all up.  We spent almost an hour last night shining a flashlight through the lid, watching it wash the first load.  So romantic, we had to laugh at ourselves!

It is a nice Samsung washer, and I'm pretty sure it's smarter than I am.

One of the features I wanted (besides it not breaking twice in the first 4 years we have it--We got the 5-year service plan warranty!) was the ability to pre-soak items.  This not only has a pre-soak cycle, it it has a sink built in the top!  You know you're a grown-up when you're excited about something like that, I guess!

I did make the kids pink heart-shaped almond-flavored pancakes for breakfast today!  I guess maybe we are not always great at showing the love on forced holidays, but we do love each other around here!

Valentine's Day

The kids were all about Valentines Day and spreading the love this weekend.  At school, the girls sent carnations to their friends and received some as well.  Caeden built a Lego valentine to share with all of us at home.

I put together a basket of goodies for the kids and Jeremy, including cards, lots of sweets, flashing artificial roses, DVD's, and Wii games.

The kids made a video Valentine and sent it to Krampa and Gram.

Annah made these adorable duct tape hearts and cards for each of us.

Right now, Jeremy is in a season which requires a lot of extra work hours.  He is working 12-14  hours a day, including weekends.  So, he worked all day today.  I did see him leave the bedroom this morning, and we both said, "I love you."  I talked to him on the phone for a few minutes this evening while he was in the car.  I know he would like to be home more, but the kids and I are grateful he has a good job and that the extra time at work is only for a short season.

The kids and I chilled at home today.  We hung out in the living room a lot, and watched Epic, which was one of the movies they got in their Valentine basket.

We also tried Wii Party, which is pretty fun!  I like that 4 of us can play together.

I am grateful love is in our home on Valentines Day and every day.  Thanks be to God.

Little Valentines

Had a little bit o' Valentine celebrating with the kiddos this morning.  Just want them to know they are so loved...

pink heart-shaped pancakes

Saw this online and loved it, so I printed it out for each of the kids for their valentines from Mommy and Daddy.

They liked.

Love.
