Carlene drove the kids and me all the way down to Carlinville today. This is the week my girls wait for and talk about and anticipate and dream about all year long--church camp week!!!!!!! It is seriously the biggest deal in their lives, and they are so excited!!!!
Camp is at beautiful Lake Williamson Christian Conference Center, which is over a 2-hour drive for us. Still, it was no trouble getting them up and out of bed at 5:30 this morning.
We arrived early and checked in quickly and easily. First we found the room Annah and Ashley were in and got them settled in. They both chose top bunks where they could put their heads together.
Sylvia's room is on the floor above. Caeden so badly wanted to stay and get to experience church camp. He has been in tears about it a couple times yesterday and today. Waiting one more year seems like an eternity to him, I'm sure. He kept begging me to let him stay today.
Sylvia saved Sierra a top bunk next to hers so their heads could be together too.
They were all happy and ready to explore and get things started, so we left them easily. It is so incredibly hot and humid; I'm grateful their dorms are air conditioned and they have access to lots of water activities this week!
The speaker for the week is our dear friend Sherry Sherwood! So we know the kids will be in good hands, learning wonderful things, and having a great time! Sherry posted this picture of the opening service this morning.
