We attended the Bloomington Normal Youth Symphony Spring Concert this evening to watch our Sylvia perform.
I caught her locating us in the balcony when she came on stage.
The National Anthem was conducted by a student--one of the senior cellists.
Mrs. Bryant, the conductor, is such a sweet lady. She loves music and these students very much.
The Sibelius was Sylvia's favorite piece of the semester--so beautiful!

When Sylvia saw that they were playing Pomp and Circumstance this semester, she was very unsure. However, for one, they played more than the part that becomes a dirge when played on repeat by miserable high school bands and it is peppier! For two, it sounds so much nicer with the strings of an orchestra! We enjoyed it!

I took a break from recording after intermission and didn't get the Kabalevsky concerto. It was featuring a student soloist!
They closed the concert with an excellent West Side Story medley!
