Sylvia's track team competed in the SVConference meet today at Tri-Valley JH. She was pretty nervous, even starting last night.
I'm thankful for the friendships Sylvia has formed and strengthened during this track season. She has gained confidence and respect, and has also been a good example of how to be a friend.

Sylvia (center) and her teammate River, walking to the start of the 400meter run.
Sylvia ran in the outside lane, which allowed her to start the race feeling like she was ahead of all the other runners. She said that was a pretty cool feeling before they passed her. Those pesky shin splints kicked in again though. Still, she finished the race.
And she came to get some ice after.
Jogging to the starting line of the 4x400...
Sylvia ran the first leg of the relay this time, which was cool.
Only one other team ran in the heat with our girls. I didn't like seeing the gap between them when there were only two, but Sylvia said she liked running with only two. Better than a track full of girls trying to get in the inside lane, I guess.
Sylvia hurt something while she was running today, and the pain was still lingering when it was time to compete in discus.
She threw her 3 times, but I don't think any of them even reached 30 feet today. Addie was there cheering loudly for her though, which was sweet. Sylvia also shared her disc with kids from other schools, since Tri-Valley did not furnish them for the teams.
Sylvia was tired after her events, but when I took Krampa and Gram back to our house, she and Jeremy stayed a few more minutes to watch some more of the boys' events. Hopefully she is not injured, and the pain of whatever she did will go away soon. It was awesome to have Gram and Krampa there to watch Sylvia and cheer her on today!!
