We had started dusting off our basic Spanish skills as soon as we landed at the airport, but are finding that most people we come into contact speak much more English than we do Spanish.
The taxi service took us right up to the beautiful open-air lobby. We were quickly checked in and taken to our room in a golf cart that the bellboy referred to as a "Mexican limo."
We are staying in a "Jr. Swim-Up Suite," which is one of the "cheaper" rooms. We think it is beautiful!
And this is the best part..the swim-up part...We can go out the glass doors of our room onto our little patio with a hammock and step right into the pool! There is an area we can swim in right there, and we can swim around the lazy river to the larger pool areas and the swim-up bar. I'm pretty excited about that hammock, myself!
This is the shower--all tile, with a half-door of glass. There is another drain in the main part of the bathroom tile floor in for water that comes out of the shower past the glass pane. It's much prettier than my picture shows.
Our room is in a secluded corner with 3 other swim-up rooms, and this is the view into the lazy river looking right off our porch.

We were very hungry when we got here, not having had anything since "lunch" at 10am this morning. So, Jeremy ordered pizza from room service.
We put on our swimsuits and went for a walk around the resort.
The sun was just beginning to go down, and we noticed the pretty strands of lights on the palm trees.
It's just beautiful here.

We found the beach...at sunset...oh my goodness!
A couple was having a romantic anniversary dinner in the gazebo at the end of the pier.
The resort staff had combed the beach and created a beautiful Happy Anniversary decoration with a heart and rose petals. (We pretended it was for us and really said 15 instead of 25.) Heehee.

I didn't even bring my fancy camera with me, so am just snapping pictures with my iPhone. I think it says a lot for a place to be this beautiful when just captured with a phone camera...
Swim-up rooms in yet another area/pool...
We went searching for the gym and fitness area, and discovered it is shared with the Sunscapes, the resort next door. I enjoyed the artwork in the lobby there.
Found a little friend on the way back to our room.
Wow, I think we're gonna like it here!
