From the Dune Climb, we decided to find a beach! We wanted to make sure the kids got to swim in Lake Michigan today, because tomorrow will be too cold.
The Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore is really beautiful--even through our windshield.
We decided to stop at Esch Road Beach. It was just a tiny walk from where we parked our car.
The kids stopped to read about rip currents, and to snicker at the sign below.
Well, we sure stopped at a gorgeous spot...
The kids were ready to get right in!
The water was pretty cool, but not cold enough to keep us out.
Jeremy taught the kids how to wait for a good wave, and then the ones after it.
Caeden had been whining about missing his Legos and not having anything to do but play on the iPad since we picked him up from camp. After today, he decided there are other things that are fun and totally awesome.
I did get in with them, but I also wanted to get photos. Here's proof: I was there!
There were some large gulls on the beach.
It was evening, and the sun was going down quickly while we were there.
They loved every minute, and it was tough to call them out of the water.
We won't soon forget this day.
How blessed to be together, enjoying God's beautiful creation.
Thank you Lord, for this day. It's been a great one.
