Back on the bus...
Hollywood Studios is really spectacular at night. I love just looking at the lights and watching the people and taking in the atmosphere of the place!
We went to see The Legend of Captian Jack Sparrow, which is a newer attraction. We recently let the kids watch the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and even got together with the R Fam to watch the 4th movie together. So, we're all fans of Cap'n Jack. (Okay, we girls are more fans of Will Turner, but we like Jack too.)
This attraction has some awesome technology!
We spent some time walking through the Walt Disney: One Man's Dream attraction, and watched the short film about him too. What an inspiring man!
Caeden was excited to see Oswald the Lucky Rabbit displayed!
I don't remember seeing a photo of Walt himself at a piano before, and was intrigued by this.

It's fascinating to see the models of the parks. Some of the original models are displayed in this attraction. We've read a lot about New Fantasyland (which is under construction--and much already open--right now), and will be going there in 2 days, so this model is really timely.
A second carousel has been added to the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride.
We've seen a few signs with this quote and others of Walt's around where scrims are currently up to cover areas of construction or renovation. I love that Walt's ideas and spirit are still at the heart of the company and all they do.
And, of course, Caeden and I were happy to see the Epic Mickey games mentioned, since we love playing them so much!
After the film, we decided to split up for a while. Shannon took the boys to ride Rock 'n' Rollercoaster again. Dawn, Addie, and Sylvia went to look around in the Magic of Disney Animation. They learned how to draw Grumpy!
And Jeremy, Annah, and I went to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid.
This show is a mix of a stage musical with special effects and clips of the movie creatively mixed in.
Ursula is gigantic and totally creepy in a most excellent way!
As Jeremy will tell you, when we were at Disney World in 2009, the kids and I didn't get good seats for the Fantasmic show (though he did.) We didn't want to miss it this time, and had great seats for the 10:30 show. It was definitely worth staying late in the park, and honestly one of THE most incredible and fascinating things I've had the opportunity to experience!
The show is about Mickey having a dream, and it illustrates the power of imagination. His dream starts out happy, with princesses and well-loved Disney characters, then his dream is invaded by the Disney villains. It's a very impressive display of how Mickey takes hold of his imagination and triumphs over the villains.

The show incorporates, a huge mountain set, a lake around the set, fountains, colored lights, lasers, fireworks, fire, and projection on water fountains. A-maz-ing!!

The face of the evil queen from Snow White was projected onto sprays of water!
This giant snake coils its way down the mountain towards Mickey.
Maleficent transforms into a 40-foot tall fire-breathing dragon...
...and sets the water on fire all around Mickey!
Mickey pulls the sword from the stone...
...and creates a wall of water fountains to put out the fire and defeat the dragon!
Good triumphs over evil and all the happy Disney friends float by on the Steamboat Willie Riverboat smiling and waving!
A beautiful happy ending.
The park was closed at this point, so we enjoyed the bustling streets and lovely lights on the way out.
Sylvie especially liked Pluto's Palace sign.
It was after 11pm, so of course we were very tired by the time we reached the bus. We were happy to see that "Animal Kingdom Lodge" sign coming towards us.
Caeden and Sylvia leaned up against their Daddy and fell asleep on the way home.
