Annah and Sylvia had a fun first tonight! Their former teacher, Ruthie, invited them to play in a string quartet with her for a very fancy Advent dinner at St. Patrick Catholic Church of Merna. It was a "paying gig" for them.
This is a very large church, and I would say there were several hundred women in attendance this evening. The building and tables were beautifully decorated, and the ladies obviously enjoyed their time together. The servers were the men of the church, who also seemed to enjoy taking care of the ladies.
The girls said it was incredibly difficult to hear each other while they played (because of the number of ladies in attendance--just their talking kind of drowned out the music), but they enjoyed the experience.
It was wonderful to see Ruthie again and make music with her too!
