After the tea room, we went to spend the afternoon with Grandma L. She was excited to show us the work that Uncle Walt has done on her bedroom and bathroom.
She had made a fruit pizza with yummy summer strawberries and blueberries!
She cut us huge pieces and covered them with Redi-whip!
Great Grandma D was having a good day, and of course, she joined us for dessert!
We played a few rounds of Taboo with Grandma.
Uncle Walt stopped by to hang a shelf in the bathroom closet and had a piece of fruit pizza with us.
Grandma had some really awesome balloons!
And bubbles!
This ball is always a favorite, and Grandma even let Caeden take it outside today, along with a cap bomb and some airplanes.
Grandma and the kids went to the garage to find other fun things to do. They found croquet!
We couldn't remember the official way to play, so Caeden just set up the wickets in a course of his own design.
After a while, Grandma remembered she had the rule book in the house. She discovered 3 wickets were missing, so we just kept arranging the course as we wanted.
It was pretty fun, until Caeden got a little wild with his mallet and was treating it more like a golf club. He lost control of it, and it went flying a few yards before hitting Annah in the head. She was more scared and angry than hurt. After a few harsh words from Annah, lots of tears from both of them, and some talking-to from me, they hugged and forgave each other.
Grandma shared some stories with the kids about times their daddy got hurt by his brother. I'm pretty sure Jeremy had kept those stories from them on purpose, but now they know he has a BB in his arm and a scar from a shotgun shell on his leg. Sometimes I think it is pretty amazing any of us live through childhood, haha!
