It's the second Saturday of the month again--time for PoC Supper Club! This time we had a fun Hawaiian Luau theme.
Pastor Todd's kids cut and decorated a cardboard box to look like a Hawaiian tiki head, and the kids had fun taking turns wearing it all evening.
Jeremy gave the devotional for the evening, and talked about how the entire purpose of PoC is to share kindness and the LOVE of Jesus with all people around us. He shared that he was uncomfortable going up to people's doors this morning to hang the PoC info door hangers, but that once he did he found joy and encouragement in sharing the love of Jesus with everyone he encountered. Sometimes we need to go out of our comfort zones to be the hands and feet of Christ! I liked how he tied the Hawaiian idea of "Mahalo!" (meaning thanks, gratitude, admiration, praise, esteem, regards, or respects...sharing kindness with others) into 1 Corinthians 13. It's not just for weddings, people; it's our mission! We have nothing without love.
Some played a rousing game of Pictionary.
As supper club ended and set-up for tomorrow's service began, these two cuties enjoyed some time playing in the drinking fountains before they got caught. :)
These are the buckets of concrete that support the 10-foot metal poles which hold up our fabric curtain walls in the sanctuary. The metal poles fit right down into the PVC you see barely sticking up out of the concrete.
