We had an amazing day with our Launch Team family today!
We met at the church this morning at 8:45 to carpool downtown.
When we got downtown, we found some of our team already there with our float. We had fun while waiting for the parade to start--painting kids faces and hair, applying temporary tattoos with our PoC logo...
Our worship team was on the float, with a generator, soundboard, amps, mics, speakers and everything!
It was HOT and sunny, but totally beautiful for the parade!
Hey, when you have a bald head, you just have extra space for decoration! ;)

We gave out 5000 pieces of foot-long Laffy Taffy ropes, green/yellow mood pencils with our website address on them, temporary PoC logo tattoos, and lots of smiles and hugs along the way.
We were #28 in the parade (of what we heard was in the hundreds), so we were speeding along quite nicely through the whole parade route. I heard it was a mile and a half, but it didn't seem like it. It only took us an hour to walk the whole route.
It was fun to see friends cheering and waving along the way too.
We puased for a sweaty picture at the park once we got to the end. Wow, that was FUN!
We were so tired at the end of the parade, and were very far from our car. God bless Jeremy for running a couple miles back to the car in a downtown parking garage and coming back to pick up the kids and me!
We spent the afternoon with our PoC friends too, at the Alvis' house. There was a cookout, swimming, volleyball, shade-sitting, and some more thanking God.
I was honored that Jeremy and Tom invited me and Lorrie to play "Bags" with them. Thankfully, they must have had their serious playing out of the way beforehand, and they were very forgiving. It was fun, and Jeremy and I won by one little point.
It was a blessed day, and we were happily exhausted when we got home.
