Opening Night!

I arrived backstage around 3:00 today, and it was pretty quiet up there. Props were in their cubbies, but there were a few jobs for me to do.

 I ironed the shower curtain and re-hung it, checked to make sure the can of spray paint actually sprays, picked up the programs, and did various other little pre-show prep tasks.

Cast members gathered in the choir room and did make up, ate, and hung out while getting ready.

Some of the crew has been analyzing the things taking place in various plays in this collection and started a map of how they are connected! 

We all gathered in the choir room to wait for curtain time.

We sent the crew to get in place, and the actors did their Energy Circle.

They marched in a straight line [in character!] down the hall, outside, and backstage to get set for the opening of the show.

Ryan read the welcome and "please turn off your phones" message from his spotlight.

It was a good performance overall, and the audience seemed to enjoy the show.

Dawn snuck up behind the girls while I was taking a picture of them and they didn't know who it was right away.  Hahahahaha!!!!

Once they realized it was Dawn, they were happy to smile!

To say I'm proud of these girls would be an understatement.  It is such a pleasure to get to do things like this--especially when my own kiddos are involved.
