As the kids are growing up, we are realizing the importance of helping them with their relationships--especially in the area of forming and maintaining friendships. It's hard! Finding the line between choosing friends that need their influence in their lives and choosing friends that will encourage them and not influence them for the worse--that is hard to figure out!
Last night we took the kids to see the high school's production of Into the Woods. Each of the girls invited a friend who then spent the night and half of the day today at our house.
This morning they put on a fashion show for us in the living room. They had each chosen several outfits from the girls' closet, and they had various hairstyles, attitudes, and expressions as they "modeled." It was cute. They all encouraged each other. And, they asked us to score them and choose a winner. Jeremy decided to create categories, and a winner in each of them. It was fun for everyone.
