Last year we watched a family of young Cooper's Hawks grow and play in our backyard. They are back this year, with new young ones!
We have seen as many as 5 together at once, sometimes playing under our row of pine trees, often perching up high on electrical poles and calling to each other.
Our front yard tree overlooking our porch is a new favorite spot for them.
And sometimes, they like the kids' swing set!
They have a simple, very high call. We think maybe this week they are learning to fly or hunt, as they have been out and about the yard a lot! We enjoy watching them.
