Sky High Sports

Caeden got to go to Sky High Sports with some friends today for Cale's birthday! 

2 hours of jumping on trampolines!!!  He LOVED it!!!

He was also pretty excited about getting to drink a Coke out of a tall glass bottle.  Big day!

Building Big Ben

This afternoon and evening Annah and Shelby and Alexis worked hard to complete their freshman class project for the hallway at school.  It was so wonderful to have Shelby and Alexis over, and the girls were just so sweet and had such a great time working together.  

Shelby noticed Caeden's light sabers sitting in the living room and said they needed to take them outside and have a little fight.  It was pretty cute, these girls just running and being silly!

Their project looks pretty cool!

Guitar Open House

Caeden's guitar teacher hosted an open house at the music shop today, and Caeden played a solo, then a duet with his teacher.  

We really love Mr. H!  He is an amazing musician, fantastic teacher, very patient, and pretty funny too.  We are so glad Caeden has the opportunity to learn from him!

And these guys were pretty happy that the OSU game was on regular TV this afternoon so they could watch it at home!

Sweet Friday

A few nights in a row this week, our schedules were full and Jeremy got home after Caeden was in bed.  He was missing his daddy and asked if he could leave him a note.  Melt my heart...

Caeden missed school again today, still feverish and not feeling well.  He did manage to read The Hobbit these past couple days, though.

It was a half day of school today, and Sylvia put up the Autumn decorations this afternoon. 

I picked up the girls and Annah's friend Shelby at school, so the they could start working on the freshman class homecoming hallway project.

 They're building a Big Ben!  

They were so resourceful, and worked constantly until about 8pm.  They were quiet and giggly.  I'm so glad for their friendship.

Daily days

Sylvia has a study hall for the trimester, and one of the girls is really good at braiding.  She has come home with a pretty new braid almost every day this week.

This little guy had to come home from school Wednesday because he had a fever and just felt like absolute crud.  He missed school today too, since he has to be fever-free for 24 hours before he can return.  

Annah got her marching band t-shirt this week.  She is loving marching band!!!

A wonderful weekend

Fall is close!  The guys watched a little college football on Saturday.

I made some sausage stew, because it just felt like that kind of a day...

And we celebrated PoC's 3rd anniversary today!  It's hard to believe we've been a church for 3 years already!  God continues to amaze us!  Here's a video I put together reviewing this past year:

This summer, we had a 15-week Capital Campaign, and a lot of the money raised went toward new design elements in the building that can be a little more permanent and relieve the setup team of having to give every Saturday night.  The design team built some really beautiful pieces, and PoC looks more beautiful than ever.


The band met at 8am this morning to rehearse in the new sanctuary space.

Jeremy was in charge of setting up all the tables and chairs outside for lunch.

My PoC photography team worked really hard to get a ton of great shots today.  And this one cracks me up!  If I made it any bigger, you could see my tonsils!  

These girls are such great friends.  And I love that my teens love to be at church.  I think they would rather be there than anywhere.

New PoC K.I.D.S. hallway decor...

Pastor Todd gave out stress balls for us to use when we aren't feeling so gentle.  I'm very excited about the new sermon series that kicked off today.  God has been speaking to me about gentleness for years, and I am nowhere close to having it down yet.

We had 8 baptisms today!

God bless these guys!  They are always doing the tedious behind-the-scenes physical work that no one notices.

Labor Day

Kevin and Regina invited us over for a cookout today.  We had such a nice time with them.  

It was pretty hot outside, but the kids played in the shad a little bit before lunch.  Sylvia took pictures.

The dads did the grilling.

After we ate, the kids went down to play in the basement.  Eryn and Meagan have a really cool bounce house!

They guys watched something about last year's Ohio State football something. 

Caeden and Meagan had races into and out of the bounce house.

The girls made some Shrinky-Dinks.

Eryn showed the kids the gameshow called Idiotest.  

We always enjoy our time with these sweet friends!

When we got home Jeremy gave Caeden a haircut in the kitchen.  He still hates haircuts with an intense passion, but he survived.
