Another beautiful day in Cozumel

It's another heavenly morning in Cozumel!  We are in our favorite breakfast spot, looking out at the water...

We were totally entertained by these pelicans fishing for their breakfast.

The only slightly annoying thing about eating outdoors is the scavenger birds that are waiting for us to drop or leave some food.  They are troublemakers.

The other day, we were on the beach and didn't have any beach towels.  I went looking for some, but didn't see any nearby.  I knew they kept several at the entertainment hut at our pool, so I just walked back there to get some.  When I got back to the beach, Jeremy had figured out that there were clean towels in the other side of the dirty towel hampers. Makes sense!

We decided to switch things up this morning and sat by the pool in the morning, instead of the beach.

Jeremy tried to make friends, but it was a little skittish once he got really close.

After lunch, we went back to the beach.  It was quiet there this afternoon.

This little hut is where guests can have a massage on the beach. 

I got a little extra sun today.  We're using waterproof sunscreen, but didn't reapply after swimming this morning.  Oops.

I admit I did download the Google Translate app, but have only used it a couple times for silly things like this...

These are the second floor swim-out rooms just above ours.  They have a water slide that goes down to the main pool.

We passed the herb garden every time we walked to the Market Cafe.

Tonight the buffet was "oriental" food.

Little geckos were running all over the palm tree by our dinner table.  I was totally amused by them.

There was a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit at the buffet tonight!

And, lots of yummy desserts...

The sun set while were eating, so it was more like a moonlight walk along the beach tonight.

There was another wedding happening on the beach tonight.  We enjoyed their music too.  It was more American--an electric violin, a box drum, and a man and woman singing.  

There were lights on under the pier tonight, and in the gazebo too.

Just another day in paradise.  Love it.

Our 3rd day in Cozumel

Good morning from Cozumel!

After Jeremy came back from the gym, we walked to Market Cafe for breakfast again, thinking of all that fresh fruit.

Yesterday, when we were lounging in the pool just outside our swim-out room, some of our neighbors came out and introduced themselves.  Will and Suzie are from Boston, just got married, and are here on their honeymoon and getting their scuba diving licenses.  They happened to be right behind us as we arrived for breakfast and invited us to get a table for four.  We enjoyed chatting with them some more.  They're very sweet.

We asked one of the hostesses if she would mind taking a picture of the 4 of us, and she took several, moved us into better light, took couples photos, and was so sweet about it!

I love my man!  So grateful for this romantic getaway with him!!!

After breakfast, we chose a new spot on the beach for the morning.  Any spot along the beach at Secrets Aura is gorgeous.

You always hear, "Don't drink the water in Mexico!" warnings, so we were sure to follow instructions. It is hot here, of course, so the staff is always offering cold bottles of water as well.

We didn't participate, but walked by during an archery demonstration...

When the weather forecast here shows rain, it is pretty unlikely from what we've learned.  It's been so lovely and sunny and warm and perfect so far.

This is the bar/service counter at Oceana. The kitchen and Barefoot Grill walk-up window are behind it.  The staff here at the resort are wonderful.  They work very long days (seems like at least 12 hours?) and always address us in English.  After we tell them, "Gracias!" they always say, "It is my pleasure."  They are all very kind and at least seem to genuinely enjoy their work.  

Jeremy may get a little annoyed at me taking pictures of everything I can think of to shoot, but I want to take Mexico home with me when we have to leave!

I got a little hammock time this afternoon.  Oh-so-relaxing!

This afternoon, the Entertainment Crew hosted a Foam Party at the pool by our room.  We had seen foam floating out over the beach while we were eating lunch and asked our server what it was.  She had to go ask someone else how to say "foam" in English and then explained to us what was going on.  We had to get in on the foam party at our own pool.  (There are 4 pools here at this resort. Two have Friday foam parties.)  We watched from in the pool, but some people got right in the foam and danced somehow!  It was pretty cool.

There were a lot of people in the pool this afternoon for the party, and our "neighbors" too.

We had supper at Market Cafe's buffet, and Jeremy got his "helado!" The server was so funny...He told us, "We have ice cream!" and kept looking every time he walked by to see if Jeremy had gotten any.  When he finally did, he grinned and said, "See?  I knew!!!"  He knew Jeremy was an ice cream guy!  In fact, Jeremy had actually been worried he wouldn't get to have any ice cream in Mexico. So, yep...good stuff!

We had another sunset walk on the beach, and a little silliness.

There was a wedding happening at one end of the resort beach. 

We sat a polite distance away, but close enough to hear the excellent mariachi trio that was playing love songs for the reception.  They were very talented musicians, and the 2 men that sang were excellent vocalists as well.  

Can't beat this backdrop for a wedding--or just any "regular" Friday night.  

Wow.  A little visual of God's glory, right there.  Thanks, Lord.
