This week in school, Caeden is learning about how God created the dry ground/land on the 3rd day of Creation. Today, he learned about gems, the special rocks God created. He made a crown with "gems" on it!

Fall Break
The girls and Krampa are all on Fall Break today, so the kids spent the night at the hotel with Gram & Krampa last night. The report was that they were all asleep by 9:00 and awake at about 6:00. The kids apparently took full advantage of the breakfast at the hotel, and ate: many little boxes of Fruit Loops, sausages, danishes, hard boiled eggs, and who knows what else. Can you tell I don't really make them hot breakfast often?
They loved being at the hotel with Gram & Krampa. Sylvie and Caeden said they fell asleep all snuggled up with their arms around each other. And Gram said she found Caeden snuggling with Annah in her sleeping bag this morning when they woke up.
Krampa needed to do some work on the computer, so the rest of us (minus Jeremy, who doesn't get the day off work for Columbus Day) went for a walk to the Arrowsmith playground.
Sylvia found dandelion wishes to make.
Grandmas and mommies are expected to play on the playground with the children!

Gram is always up for a good adventure!
It was no fun to have them leave, but we were sure glad Gram & Krampa could come!

More Fall family fun at the pumpkin patch
We had such a good time last weekend at the pumpkin patch,
we decided to take Gram & Krampa there today!
First we went to Ropp Cheese farm to taste and buy cheese.
There were new baby calves born this week!
This little one, in its "calf-tel," could barely even stand yet!
Meet "Princess" the lama! She wasn't really too happy to meet us.
When we went in the barn to see the big cows, Caeden wanted to climb the haystack. Mommy said no, but Krampa quickly climbed on up with Caeden. They thought they were hot stuff, having all that fun way up high.
Back at Rader's Pumpkin Patch, it was a much less crowded scene than it was last week during their Fall Festival! With so many less people there, we got to do the things we missed out on last weekend...like the trike track...
My husband always loves to have fun--and be the center of attention! One of the reasons I love him so much...there's never a dull moment with him around!

Annah just loves animals so much, and was happy to hold the bunnies again!
We went out into the pumpkin patch and picked pumpkins to buy and bring home. They are on our porch now, waiting for carving!

The girls each picked out a tiny pumpkin too, for our fall kitchen table centerpiece.
We had to stop for one last photo at the official photo spot!

*We* were all a little feisty and tired of posing for pictures by this time,
but we sure enjoyed the pumpkin patch!!
It will definitely be a new fall tradition for our family.
While we were hunting for pumpkins, Jeremy and I struck up a conversation with a super sweet lady who was relishing that her teens were there with her enjoying choosing pumpkins for their family. We chatted about how fun it was, how quickly the kids grow (She had 2 girls and a boy, like us!), and how great it is to enjoy a family tradition like going to the pumpkin patch together as a family.
Gram & Krampa have taken the kids to the hotel with them for the night! It sure is quiet around here! I hope the kids are so exhausted they'll sleep for them!

Surprise!!! Happy Birthday Caeden!!!!!!!!
We sure surprised Caeden big today! He'd been saying he wanted a surprise party, where people would jump up and yell surprise when he walked in the room. He'd also been saying he's already 4, so I told him we weren't going to have a birthday party for him if he already turned 4!
So, Gram & Krampa have been planning to come, since Krampa is on Fall Break Monday and Tuesday. It just worked out really well... The girls had musical practice at church this morning, I taught piano lessons, Jeremy took Caeden into town to get some groceries and pick up the girls. Mom & Dad arrived while Jeremy and the kids were on their way home, and we waited for them to come in the door--Caeden first!
He was SO surprised, he didn't know what to do for a couple minutes! We yelled, "Surprise!" and he just looked around! Then, I said, "Happy Birthday Caeden!" and he started to say, "Happy Birthday!" and I told him it was all for him. He was trying to process it all, I think!
We had to point out to him that Gram & Krampa were here, and they hadn't been before!
He was very surprised and excited to see them!!
As soon as he figured out it was party time, he was ready to open presents!
Gram & Krampa gave Caeden the Giggling Troublesome Trucks for his Thomas the Tank Engine wooden train set.
Everyone loved playing with Caed's new swords!
Gram & Krampa also gave Caeden this cool Thomas take-along roundhouse.
Caeden was excited to get the Larry Boy videos he's been wanting!
Caeden wants "alllllllllll" of the Thomas Trains, but for months since he saw it, he has been begging for the Sodor Scrub & Shine "train wash."
That was our big gift to him, and it's pretty super cool.
Apparently, you can never have enough train stuff.
It's hard to believe this big boy has FOUR candles on his cake!!!
I just love Caeden's face in this one...He was practically drooling waiting for cake!

to make Caeden's celebration even more special!
And, I promise, I really was there...just behind the camera the whole time, loving every minute of celebrating this sweet, ornery little guy.

Annah's friend Hannah
Annah's friend Hannah came over to visit today. She thinks Annah's Dad is "crazy." I'm pretty sure he enjoys this opinion...And he is always the fun guy.
A trip to the Pumpkin Patch
We had such a fun time today at the Ropp Road Roundup Fall Festival! The kids were so excited to go to the pumpkin patch, but there was so much more to see and do!
The first thing they saw when we got there was the giant blow-up pumpkin. The first thing they did was play in the corn-box. What a genius idea...so much cleaner than sand!
There were LOTS of little kids in it, so the girls played from the outside of it.
Caeden got right in though. He thought it was fun to
dump the corn over his head--repeatedly.
At first the girls were a little timid to try the straw maze. But, they didn't want to get out once they discovered how cool it was in there!

The pumpkin patch is amazing and goes on forever!!!
The kids were all amazed and totally in awe of it.
Jeremy helped Caeden hold the soft, sweet bunnies.
Annah and Caeden loved holding and petting them, but Sylvia was a little afraid to try.
There was also free face painting! Caeden got a little ghost.
Annah chose a black cat.
Sylvia chose to have a pink flower on her cheek.
After we left the pumpkin patch, we drove down the road to the Ropp Jersey Cheese Farm for some super creamy ice cream. Mmm!

Sweet Sylvie & her 1st Lost Tooth!
Sylvia missed school yesterday because her eye was swollen shut with some kind of allergic reaction. So, she wasn't allowed to go to the football game last night--school policy. (She didn't want anyone to see her anyway.) So, thoughtful Daddy picked up a movie for Sylvie and Mommy to watch at home! We watched Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium, which was really very good! We had ice cream, and snuggled on the couch.
But, what was more exciting about the day was that Sylvia lost her first tooth!!!!!! She, Annah, and Hannah were playing upstairs in the girls' room, and Sylvia was eating a pear. I didn't realize she had any teeth that loose, but she said she was eating the pear, and felt the tooth get really loose. She told Annah and Hannah that her tooth was about to come out, and Annah sent her to the bathroom to get a tissue to help pull it. Sylvia went in the bathroom and pulled it out all by herself, and then I hear the girls making a bunch of commotion! Sylvia came downstairs with her tooth in her hand telling me she'd just pulled her first tooth! It was very exciting!!!

Crazy Daddy
Annah had her friend Hannah over after school today! I've been praying that she would find a close friend in her class this year, and Hannah was actually the girl God put on my heart! So, I just think it's really cool that they have formed a closer friendship this year. (They were in 1st grade together too.) She is a sweet girl, even it if is confusing to have an Annah AND a Hannah around at the same time!
So, apparently Annah told Hannah that her daddy acts a little crazy when there are friends over to our house! (What? Who? Jeremy act crazy?!) Well, when he found out about this expectation, he was sure not to disappoint, and Hannah loved playing right along...
Jeremy took Annah, Hannah, and Caeden to their school's homecoming football game tonight. The football team has really been stinking it up this year,
but they still had fun cheering them on.!
