Rehearsal for the play is coming along well.  We are blocking scenes on stage this week!

Play Work Day

We had a work day today for the play.  We brought props up from the basement prop closet.

We moved the heavy platforms--again.  We spent time together as a cast.

Cast members cuffed each other with excitement at finding their detective props.

We rehearsed some scenes we had blocked last week when Tyler was sick.

We had fun finding silly (and useful) things in the prop closet.

Limestone

The marching band competed at Limestone HS today.  Tomorrow is Mr. Marchese's birthday, so the students presented him with a cake and sang happy birthday to him before leaving school.

We drove to Bartonville in torrential rains, then sat in Shannon's truck with him and Dawn for over an hour waiting out the rain delay. It did finally stop raining, and then the show went on as planned.

Everyone got into their uniforms in the gym where it was dry.  

Dawn is the expert at snapping up pant legs.

Band parents placed the podium and stayed on the field to hold the backdrops down because it was really windy!

Despite not feeling well, Annah played her solo beautifully today!  Proud momma alert!

Isabella couldn't come to the competition today, so the mellophone duet became a Sylvia solo.

We are currently praying for a little girl in our community who is going through treatments for a brain tumor. She has always found hearts and given them or pointed them out to her mom throughout her life, and now folks are sending her all the hearts they find. One of the bands that performed today did a show called "Heart," and formed a heart on the field a couple times so I had to send this picture to Daelin's mommy after saying another prayer for her.  

We stopped at Cracker Barrel for supper on the way home.

Laryngitis

Annah hasn't been feeling well most of the week.  On Tuesday afternoon, she felt feverish and achy.  She stayed home from school Wednesday morning and only went in for her 3 afternoon classes--Spanish 3, Chemistry 2, and PreCalculus.  She had band rehearsal after school and lost her voice.  Today, I sent her to school with a white board and dry erase marker and forbade her to talk at all.  She has auditions for ILMEA Honor Choir on Monday and an all-day band competition in the rain tomorrow, so when I got home from rehearsal this afternoon I took her to prompt care.  She was given antibiotics and prednisone, so I took her to Imperial Buffet while we killed a little time waiting for the prescriptions to be filled.  She loves Imperial Buffet, and was very, very happy to have some coconut shrimp and peanut butter chicken!  She even liked her fortune, which said,
"We write our own destiny. We become what we do."

This afternoon Shelby, Zach, and Annah finished painting the flats for the play.

Midnight Blues sang the national anthem before the varsity volleyball game tonight. It was their first performance of the school year, and Sylvia's first time ever performing with the group.  Jeremy and I both rushed to get there from Bloomington to see them sing.  They did a great job!

Jeremy helped Sylvia study for a social studies test when we got home.

After we finished worship band rehearsal this morning, some peppy hispanic worship music was playing, and Caeden just couldn't keep from dancing!

After church, the kids had Beacon lunch and rehearsal, then youth group.  Jeremy and I had lunch at the Thai House, then spent the afternoon shopping.  He bought me some new jeans and a couple pairs of shoes, and we also stopped at a few car lots and looked at cars.  It was wonderful to spend time together.  

This evening when we got home after youth group, Annah and I went up to the school for a little bit to finish priming the flats on stage.
