Spring Day with Our Neighbor Friends
Today, the girls and I spent some time with Carlene and Ashley and Jacob playing outside. Sylvia and I both got a little too much sun on our faces, despite my efforts to keep Sylvie covered up. Guess we better remember to use sunscreen from now on!
Annah had so much fun playing in the sandbox and swinging. When she and Ashley were on the double swing, the sound of their giggles was priceless, and their smiles couldn't have been any bigger! It was definitely a "precious moment!"

Broken/Fixed Computer and other adventures
Our computer konked out again! (That's why we haven't updated in a few weeks.) So, as of yesterday, we now have basically a new computer. Hopefully this one will last us longer than the last one. Sheesh.
We took a trip to Indiana a couple weeks ago, and were able to stay a few days. The girls did pretty well traveling that Thursday evening.
On our way to Indiana, Annah really needed to go pooey. But, when she's sitting in her carseat, it is actually physically difficult for her to do. (No, she's not potty trained yet, so she was trying to go in her diaper.) Since she really needed to go, it was frustrating her and might have even been a little painful, and every few minutes she would start screaming/crying about it. When we were getting close to a place we could stop, we were trying to figure out ways to comfort her until we could pull over. We decided we would stop somewhere we could get ice cream. So, in the midst of Annah's screaming fit, we asked her if she wanted to get some ice cream. Immediately the crying and screaming stopped, and she said in her sweetest, most excited voice, "I want CHOCOLATE!" We cracked up. When we got to Dairy Queen, Jeremy took her inside, and while he was changing her diaper Annah told him, "Chocolate ice cream make me feel better Daddy."
Since Jeremy took a half day off work for traveling purposes, we planned for Annah to nap in the car that afternoon/evening on our way to Indiana. But, she was SO excited about going to Grandpa and Grandma's house that she defiantly refused to sleep! She was so tired she almost needed toothpicks to keep her eyelids up, but she stayed awake the whole way there. Of course, she wouldn't go to bed when we got there either. Thankfully, she slept over 13 hours that night. She ended up missing her naps the next few days in a row too, because of all the excitement.
Sylvia slept most of the way to Indiana, and only cried once for a few minutes. She was a good little traveler.
On Friday, Annah and Gram McEowen colored Easter Eggs. She liked dipping them and stirring the coloring water. That afternoon Grandma Lopshire and Great Grandma DeHaven got to meet Sylvia Claire for the first time. Unfortunately, Grandma Lopshire was sick and couldn't hold her too much.
Friday night we had dinner with my parents and Trav and Erin at Mom's and Dad's house. It was a nice, relaxing time.
That Saturday, Jeremy spent most of the day in Decatur at a wrestling tournament. He and his brother Eric even wrestled an exhibition match. Congratulations to Eric on the victory and also winning the realization that his brother is a very strong man these days! :)
Annah got to spend that Saturday with Grandma and Grandpa Lopshire. She helped Grandma make rice crispie crosses and had lots of fun. Great Grandma told us that Grandpa complimented Annah with about every word he could think of about how beautiful she is.
Sylvia and I got out a little bit with Gram Mc and went to Babies "R" Us. We got a wonderful Baby Björn Carrier courtesy of the Pattons. (Yes, the Baby Björn really is worth the money and is as great as everyone says! We LOVE it!!!) Gram also got some adorable matching outfits for the girls too! We also went to Wal-Mart, and found a great sale on fabric for $1.00 a yard! I bought some and am making some matching dresses for the little sisters.
By the time we were in the checkout line at Wal-Mart, Sylvia was sick of being in her carseat carrier and started wailing. Of course, I didn't have a pacifier (We've since discovered that Sylvia won't take one anyway.), so I felt like everyone was looking at me and my screaming infant as though I were a bad mommy.
Saturday evening we had dinner at Jeremy's parents with Eric and Marti, Wil and Charlie, Great Grandma D., and Walt and Joyce. It was great to see them all. Grandpa met Sylvia for the first time, and even held her for quite a while. Both of them were pretty comfortable with each other.
On Sunday, Grandpa Mc hid eggs for Annah, and we all followed her around the yard as she hunted for them. She had a blast.
Later, Jeremy went fishing with Travis and Dad. They hauled in quite a load of 33 fish and had a good time as well.
While Annah was napping, Sylvia and I got to spend a little time with the Skinners and the Johnson family. Sitting in the Johnson's living room felt "just like old times" to me, except for the exciting fact of the babies there and on the way... It was neat to see Ann, Nathan, and Sarah, and we are just SO excited for Amy and Brock and their little girl on the way! It was a special time with all of them.
Since we returned home, Eric and Marti found out that their little on one the way is boy number three! And, the Lowry's learned they're having a little girl! We're excited for all of them, and can't wait to meet all these babies!!
Also since we've been home, sickness has reigned in our household! Last weekend Annah developed the sniffles and a cough. Sunday Jeremy started feeling horrible. By Monday night we were sure Annah had an ear infection, and Jeremy was completely miserable. I took them both to the doctors on Tuesday. Annah got some Amoxicillin, and she is feeling mostly better by now. Jeremy has been home all week until today, and finally got some Zithromax when he went back to the doctor yesterday. He's on the mend, but is very tired of being sick!
As a result of the "sickies," our Easter was pretty quiet. We did manage to go to church in the morning. It was Sylvia's first time at church. We left as soon as the service was over, because Jeremy was starting to feel pretty bad. We got around to hiding eggs inside the house around 4:00 in the afternoon. Annah did actually see a bunny in our backyard in the morning, which she was convinced was the Easter Bunny. :)

Is it Spring yet?!
Is it spring yet?!?! We are soooo ready for it! How about getting rid of the ice and snow and getting some more of that sunshine and warm weather we had last week?!
Sylvie is growing like a weed! She is awake more hours of the day now, and loves to smile BIG when we talk to her! She is sleeping in her crib in her room some of the night now--when Mommy isn't too lazy to put her back after she's done nursing. She loves listening to music, and sitting in her vibrating bouncy seat.
Big sister Annah is constantly asking, "Can I see Sylvie? Can I hold her? Can I touch her? Can I give her a kiss? Can I play with her?" It is absolutely precious! We're taking a break from Annah's potty training for a while. It was just too much for her to adjust to at the same time as a new baby. We'll try again in a while.
I am trying to get the "mother of 2" thing down--slowly. Annah is such a good helper these days, and wants to be a part of everything Sylvia does, so that is a blessing. Sometimes we don't get out of bed or get a shower much before 10:00; the house isn't too clean, and sometimes supper is after 6:30, but we'll get it down sooner or later.
Since the pediatrician told us not to take Sylvia out around large groups of people until she is 6-8 weeks old (to minimize the risk of RSV and other sicknesses), we are getting a little "cabin fever." But, Jeremy stayed home with Sylvia for a couple hours on Sunday night while I took Annah to church for first hour Sunday school. It was a nice little break, but we're anxious for the weather to get nicer and the threat of bad germs to go away.
I feel stress at times, but today as I was changing Annah's diaper, Annah told me, "Mommy, you always take good care of me." Wow--that makes it all worthwhile!
Children truly are a treasure from the Lord!

Sylvia is 4 weeks old
It's so hard to believe Sylvia Claire is four weeks old already!! She is doing just great--eating, sleeping, and growing well. She fits in our family perfectly; we are so happy and blessed to have her.
So...Does she look like her Mommy?
