A visit, a project, and a new car

My parents arrived today for a long visit.  They came for Sylvia's Dedication tomorrow, and are staying a while to help redecorate our kitchen!  

Mom got a new car--a Nissan Murano, and Annah had to check it out as soon as they arrived...

She wanted to take it for a test-drive too.

Tricycle Riding

This morning, as we were preparing to leave, Gram and Krampa showed Annah how to ride my old tricycle.

 

She also "rode" (more like "posed") in Gram's new old-looking wagon.

Jalynn Grace

After we got the girls put to bed, the two of us made quick trip into Fort Wayne to see Brock and Amy's beautiful new baby girl just a few hours after she was born!
 Jalynn Grace is absolutely beautiful!!! We are so incredibly excited that she is finally here! What a beautiful blessing and miracle!!

Congratulations Amy and Brock!! We love you!

Fun at the Mc Fam Farm

We made a quick trip to Indiana on last evening.  Annah was so excited about going to Grandpa and Grandma's that she didn't even eat her chicken nuggets and fries when we stopped at McDonald's!
    
This morning, the girls and Jeremy got to spend some time with Grandma Lopshire and Great Grandma DeHaven.
 
    At noon, Taryn's parents had a party for Great Grandma McEowen's 85th birthday!

We planned to go to Jessica and Ian's wedding Saturday evening, but realized that we had forgotten to bring the garment bag with our dress clothes in it.  Ooops!!

Annah had lots of fun picking strawberries with Krampa today in his garden.

I think there was just as much eating as there was picking.

Instead of going to the wedding, Grandpa and Grandma Lopshire and Great G'ma DeHaven came over to the McEowen's and we all had dinner together.  It was neat to have all the grandparents in one place since we couldn't be in Indiana for very long.

Hawaii, here we come!!!

It's official: We're going to Hawaii!! Jeremy passed the last of the eight C.L.U. exams on Thursday, and will receive his designation in Oahu in October! Needless to say, we are very excited to have the opportunity to go on this trip! It will be hard to leave the kids, but we definitely need some time to ourselves too. We'll be staying on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu...not too shabby... :-D

New Sand

Annah got new sand in her sandbox!

The past week has been sort of busy. Last Tuesday was our 3-year wedding anniversary. We both agree that it seems like longer than 3 years. That's probably because in the past 3 years we have had two babies, bought 2 houses, moved twice (3 times for Jeremy), and made lots of other major changes in our lives. Also, in September we will have been "together" for 12 years! So, all that makes three years seem like longer. But, it seriously does just keep getting better.

Yesterday was Jeremy's 28th birthday! Annah and I baked him a special birthday cake. Thank you to those of you who called to wish him well. He is studying this week for his 8th C.L.U. exam on Thursday and is not taking any phone calls. Hopefully by next week he will be back on the planet!

An update on Jeremy's recent acting career... He has been busy with this at church! In the past few weeks he has played "Spock" and given an infomercial type demonstration on "how to sit down." There's never a dull moment with Jeremy around...

The girls are both doing well, though both still have stuffy noses. Annah wants to snuggle with Sylvia all the time, and we are constantly trying to keep her from sitting in the bouncy seat or lying under the baby gym with Sylvia. (There's just not room for both of them in those places!) Annah also wants to be sure Sylvia doesn't miss out on anything. So if Sylvie falls asleep for one second Annah is sure to do something to wake her up--like yell, touch her, slam something... Poor Sylvia is constantly being jolted out of her peaceful state of rest--when she's lucky enough to get a moment of it!

Annah seems to be in the height (or what we hope is the height) of the tantrum and whining stages. If this is as terrible as the "terrible twos" gets, we believe that the terrific far outweighs the terrible.

Sylvia is such a happy baby! She sleeps at least 9 hours a night now. And she is SO smiley! Anytime anyone talks to her she just grins and babbles back!

There isn't a day that goes by that we don't look at our babies and thank the Lord for how beautiful and wonderful they are!
