Visits

Annah's Krampa and Gram Mc came to visit last Thursday night and stayed until Saturday.  Dad and Jeremy planted a little garden in various places in our backyard, and dug out some unsightly weed-ish things we've had growing.  They also put together our new swing on our front porch--it's wonderful!   And, of course, they spent lots of time playing with Annah! It was wonderful to have them here.

     

On Saturday night, we had a fun time at the Keller's, eating wonderful Mexican food and playing Mad Gab, Outburst, and Spoons with them and the Sherwood, Vieth, Babbs, and Dillman families while Annah had fun with the rest of the kids next door!
     

Annah can now count to 12 all by herself!  She sometimes gets stuck between 4 and 5, but can always go on if we hold up 5 fingers.  She can also say, "Macaroni!"  I torment her by making her say it over and over because it's just so cute! :)
     

We have all three been sick and recovered again.  This time it was a weird combination of head & body achiness, sinus pain, fever and sore/swollen throat.  How fun.  We're all feeling better for now though!  Unfortunately, Grandma Vonda must have taken some of our germs home, because she has it now.  We hope you feel better soon Grandma!
     

I finished painting the upstairs bathroom today.  It's a pretty, bright periwinkle color.  Now for the hallway...when we get around to it. ;)

Busy fun

We had a relatively busy, but fun week and weekend. On Tuesday, our neighbors, the Stambaughs came over to grill out.  Annah loves playing with Jacob and Ashley!  

On Thursday, we met a group of friends that Jeremy used to work with in Ohio who were in town and some he works with now at Biaggi's for dinner, which is always a nice treat. 

Friday we were invited to have dinner with the Musicks, friends from church.  Annah and Logan are very close in age, and she had fun playing with him and Mitchel.  

Saturday, we got together with Stambaughs at their house to grill out.  

And, yesterday was Jeremy's 27th birthday! We spent most of the day at church, but Jeremy did get his ice cream cake from DQ! :)

Happy Mother's Day!  What a blessing to be a mother!

    

Everyone here is feeling better now, thankfully.
    

We spent the weekend in Indiana.  Friday we visited with Jeremy's mom and Grandma DeHaven for a little while.  Then, we left Annah with Grandma and Grandpa McEowen, and headed to Syracuse to celebrate our wedding anniversary.  We had dinner and spent the night at the Oakwood Inn at Oakwood Park.  We had a wonderful, relaxing time there!
   

Saturday we visited with Taryn's parents a little and then had dinner with both sets of our parents at Carlos O'Kelly's.  We had a great server, and the food was excellent! ;) We also stopped at Zesto and Annah enjoyed eating some "ahkens" (ice cream).  We also got to see Great Grandma McEowen and Great Aunt Juanita and Uncle Jerry and Great Aunt Wanda & Uncle Earl, and of course Princess the dog, whom Annah loves!!!

    

When we returned home today, we found our basement flooded worse than ever...probably about a foot of water in some parts of it.
    

Happy Anniversary to us tomorrow. :)

Rotavirus

Annah has rotavirus. :(  She has been a quite sick for a week now.  We thought she had recovered, and then she got sick again Sunday afternoon.  We think she is doing better now.  

She visited her pediatrician today, and he was truly "amazed" at her knowledge.  He said he has never seen an 18 month old know colors.  Then he learned that Annah also recognizes her letters and numbers, and he told us, "Save your money!"

    

Jeremy hasn't been feeling very well himself, but also seems to be mending.  I'm praying I don't get it now!

Sick and a half

Happy 1 1/2 year birthday to Annah!  It's not very happy for her though; she is one sick little girl. :(  The three of us were up most of the night because she was getting sick every 15 minutes or so. It was scary for all of us since she's never really thrown up before. Hopefully she's on the mend.

A series of unfortunate events

Sometimes it does seem like unfortunate things happen in multiples...

    
While we were in Indiana over the weekend, we discovered that Jeremy's brakes on his car have been improperly "fixed" for the past year.   The car wasn't even safe to drive!  We are thankful, however, that nothing happened while he's been driving this way for the past year!  Upon having the problem fixed today, he had to have the brakes replaced. 
    
We returned home last night to find that our basement had flooded again while we were gone.  This time was the worst yet.  We will be having a sump pump put in A.S.A.P.  We aren't sure what all that might entail besides having the hole dug, buying the pump, and installing it...possibly drainage problems.   Yippee!
    
And, since there was so much water in the basement, the pilot light on our gas water heater was out and we had to wait until tonight to re-light it.   
    
But, we have so much to rejoice about and be thankful for; these things are just the little "trials" of everyday life. 

Springtime love

Annah has been having fun learning her letters and numbers!   She knows her numbers 1-10 pretty well, and has more than half the alphabet down!  
    
I had blood tests for diabetes and anemia this week, and we're thankful I don't have either!  Yay!
    
Jeremy is beginning to study for his next test, which will be April 25th.  This one's about Estate Planning.  Thank goodness Hawaii is the motivation!

We are loving having some outside time this spring!

Easter

How was your Easter?  We've had some nice times recently with lots of with family and friends we hadn't seen in a while.  The weekend before Easter, our friends Andy and Julie visited from Ohio!  They patiently played with Play-Doh and did puzzles over and over and over and over with Annah.  It was fantastic to see them, and we were so happy they came all the way here to spend some time with us!  We really miss spending time with them like we did when we lived in Columbus.
    
Jeremy spent last working week in Ohio and seeing many of his former co-workers.  It was an enjoyable and tiring week for him, but he was really glad to see many friends he hadn't since we moved 9 months ago.  Staying at the Hilton and eating at Easton Towne Center for a week wasn't such a bad deal either!
   
I had decided I would head home to Indiana for the week since Jeremy was gone anyway, but the weather had different ideas.  Here, we had ice underneath a few inches of snow.  So, my parents decided they would brave the roads and come to get me and Annah.  Well, the weather was far worse in Indiana than it was here.  It took them 6 hours to get here, and 7 hours for us to get back to Indiana, for what is normally a 4-hour drive!  The roads were horrible, but we made it safely!
     
Annah had a very fun Easter!  Gram made her a very pretty Easter dress and bonnet, and she got to go on her very first Easter egg hunt!   She LOVED finding the eggs and putting them in her basket!  Of course, she got lots of goodies from the Easter bunny (grandparents!) too!  She also learned what a birdie says, and also what a guinea pig says!  And, she got to pet one of Grandpa Lopshire's real  bunnies!!

     
We saw Uncle Travis and Aunt Erin; Uncle Eric, Aunt Marti, cousins Wilson & Charlie; mommy's friends Lori, and Amy; all 4 Grandparents; and 3 of the Great Grandmas; and lots of Crabill relatives, including the newest: Camden Bryce!   It was a very fun-filled week and weekend!!  We're blessed with so many great family and friends!!  We love you all and miss you already!!
