Since we last updated, Annah is doing much better. My cold turned into bronchitis, and then I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was taking to get rid of the bronchitis. I'mstill reacting, even after a shot in the hip and 4 days solid of Benadryl, Claritin and Prednisone. The cough is still hanging on too. Probably the worst part of it is that I'm now allergic to every family of antibiotics. Now Jeremy is trying hard not to come down with the sickness.
Anyway, we traveled home to Indiana Wednesday night. The Crabill family's Thanksgiving dinner was amazing as always, and with 54 people, the 3 tons of food was gone in about 15 minutes! Eric and Marti graciously hosted the Lopshire's and the Frisch's for a wonderful afternoon dinner. Cousin Wilson showed Annah how to play race cars.
Friday afternoon Annah successfully had her pictures taken at the studio. We had a couple family shots done too. Hopefully they'll turn out well and you may see them in a Christmas greeting. After pictures, we went to Fred Toenges Shoes and Annah had her feet measured for the first time! Grandma Vonda bought Annah her first pair of pre-walkers and a pair of pretty black patent leather size fours! :) Then we visited Uncle Travis and Aunt Erin's new apartment. It's really nice!
Saturday we visited with Grandpa and Grandma Lopshire all day. Annah loves their bright orange parakeets! We stopped at Great Grandma DeHaven's for a few minutes on our way back to the McEowen supper. Annah had fun playing with cousin Aidan on Friday night and Saturday. Aidan is great at walking--even wearing his daddy's shoes, but Annah still prefers talking. Over the weekend she learned to say, "radio," "water," and her favorite thing in the world right now is a "cracker!!!!"

birthdays and sickness
Our little baby is now one year old! As much as I didn't want it to happen, Annah turned one on October 31st. We had a fun day. Annah watched me carve the jack-o-lantern and bake her two birthday cakes.
When Jeremy got home we put Annah's costume on her and started handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters. We took Annah trick-or-treating herself along with our neighbors Matt and Carlene, and their kids Ashley and Jacob. Jacob was the only one actually trick-or-treating, but it was fun for us all. ;) Afterwards, we all came back to our house for cake and ice cream. Thinking Annah might do what her mommy did on her first birthday (stuck her whole face in the cake), we put one cake in front of her. She didn't know what to think of it and was too tired to be interested in it. Daddy fed her cake and ice cream from a spoon. She liked it though! :) So, we had lots of cake left over. After the company left, Annah opened her presents. She got a Tickle Me Elmo and 2 pop-up books from Mommy and Daddy. She was wiped out and went to bed with the SOFTEST pink elephant from Andy & Julie.
Annah had her 1-year check-up on November 6th. She weighs 18 pounds, 10 ounces and is 30 inches tall. That's a lot to grow in just one year. She is tall and thin for her age compared to the averages, and that's how she seems to us too. She already had a cough and a little bit of fever before the shots, and the fever got worse that night.
Over this past weekend we went to Indiana. Annah did not feel well at all. She barely slept while we were there because she couldn't quit coughing. We tried to have her 1-year pictures taken at the studio on Friday, but she was so tired and icky feeling that it just didn't work. We'll try again at Thanksgiving time.
On Saturday, Grandma & Grandpa McEowen hosted a birthday party for Annah at their house. Lots of Annah's very special relatives came to help us celebrate. She was still feeling yucky, but it was so neat to have all those special people together for her. She was given lots of presents and did have fun opening them with the help of Cousin Wilson and Daddy and Mommy. That night cousin Scott and cousin-in-law Cathy watched Annah's new Veggie Tales video with us, and Grandma granted Annah's request to put the entire bag of barrettes in her hair.
Sunday was Travis' and Erin's Indiana Wedding Reception . Annah was still feeling icky and slept through most of it. It was beautiful and fun, just like their wedding. Annah slept most all the way home that night and is still on the track to getting all better. Now I'm sick. Hopefully Jeremy isn't next.
Our friend Kevin is here staying with us for a while until his house in Arrowsmith is ready for him to move in. He cooked an amazing meal tonight, so we'll let him stay as long as he wants! ;) We're very glad to have him here.

Annah's family birthday party in Indiana
We had a family party in Indiana to celebrate Annah's first birthday.
Annah was struggling with a cold all weekend, though, and not feeling 100% for her party.
It was so very special to have all four of Annah's Great Grandmothers together for her birthday!
They had a good time chatting with each other and being together too!

Annah's First Birthday
Annah was a butterfly for Halloween.
