On Saturday, Jeremy took Annah to the pediatrician for her 6 month check-up. She now weighs 15 pounds, 11 ounces and is 27 inches tall! (Jeremy noted that she is almost half as tall as her mommy already! Ha ha ha.) Dr. H. was happy to learn that Annah can sit all by herself too. 

 Annah experienced her first vegetable meal yesterday--carrots, yum! She must have really liked them, because she ate the whole jar! 

 We attended the contemporary service at RUMC again yesterday, and also went to the Homebuilders Sunday School class afterward. We enjoyed meeting some new couples, and look forward to becoming more involved with a new church family. 

 We apologize for not being able to add any new pictures for over a month now. Our home computer is still not up and running. We hope to have it back in a few weeks, and will try to get some new pictures up then if not before. You may be surprised to see how much Annah has grown and changed! She just keeps getting sweeter--we think! :)

Easter in Ohio

Annah's first Easter was not exactly what we expected it to be. She caught her first cold on Thursday, and about the time we should have been leaving for Indiana on Friday, she had a fever of 102.5°. By talking to Jeremy, Annah's regular doctor's partner thought it sounded like Annah might have an ear infection, and he prescribed some antibiotics and ear drops, and told us to take Annah to see Dr. Heinmiller in the morning. So, we weren't able to go home to Indiana. 

 Dr. Heinmiller said Annah's ears were "crystal clean" and that she just has a cold--no ear infection. We thought it would be better for us to stay at home so Annah could rest and feel better. So, we didn't get to celebrate Easter with all of our relatives and friends in Indiana. It was disappointing for everyone. Annah is starting to feel better. 

 Her temperature has been down since Saturday, but she still has the sneezes and stuffy nose. She tried oatmeal cereal this weekend too, and it did not agree with her tummy at all! Poor little girl!

Staying Seated

Welcome to the world, Sydney Kae Christner! Born at 5:12 a.m. April 11, 2001! 6 pounds, 2 ounces, 20 inches tall! Congratulations Laura and Steve! 

 Now that we're halfway to the next weekend, we finally have time to write about the last one! 

 Actually, last weekend was pretty uneventful, which was nice. The weather was absolutely awesome--in the mid-70's and sunny! So, we finally put together the grill we got for our wedding and have already had a couple "cookouts" in the backyard. Annah loves being outside, and we all can't wait for the rain to take a break so we can go outside again! But we know that "April showers bring May flowers," or we hope at least will grow the grass Jeremy planted last weekend! 

 On Sunday, Taryn sat Annah down on the floor and let go of her, and she just stayed sitting all by herself! Now that she's achieved sitting, she loves to sit in front of the door to the den and play with the full-length mirror on it. She is so happy these days that she can barely contain it! She jabbers constantly, squeals anytime she's smiled at and grins back, and Daddy can really get her laughing!! She also thinks blowing raspberries is pretty funny. She's really anxious to start moving about, and has learned to turn herself around in circles while she's on her tummy. 

 Annah attended her first Palm Sunday service at the Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. We have visited the church a couple times now, and think it just may be the right one for us. Annah got her very own palm branch and waved it joyfully...then tried to eat it! Mommy and Daddy decided to wave it for her. 

 We're looking forward to Easter weekend in Indiana!

Our weekend was again fun-filled, and eventful.

 Snickers was beginning to look like a big hairy muppet, and we wanted his hair to be short for the (hopefully) upcoming warmer weather. So we told the groomer to cut his hair short, and she said she'd do the "sports trim." We didn't know that "sports trim" meant practically hairless! Snickers no longer looks like a cocker spaniel...We're not sure what he looks like right now!

 Saturday Jeremy's brother Eric and his family came to visit us! He and his wife, Marti, just had baby Charlie two weeks ago, and we got to meet him! He sure is a good little guy--so quiet and content. We all went to Chuck E. Cheese's, and Wilson got to go through the big overhead maze, play basketball, and ride the train. He is the opposite of Charlie right now--full of energy!! We also introduced Eric and Marti to Graeter's Ice Cream--the best in the world!! We like to go there every chance we get. ;)

 Yesterday, we had a very nice lunch at Matt and Suzanne Smith's house and got to spend some time with them, their cat Charlie, and Cora and Josh Willett. Annah really wanted to give Charlie a nice squeeze, but he wasn't too sure what she was, and didn't get close enough to give her the opportunity. It's always so nice to get to spend time with our friends from college!

Annah really wishes she could crawl, and seems to be getting closer by the day. Guess we better get some baby gates soon! She is also almost strong enough to sit up on her own. We're afraid that one of these days she's going to crawl across the room, sit up, and pop through her first tooth all in the same day!

Friday, March 23, 2001 - Chicken pox
     Last weekend was a busy one! 
     Zachary, our baby-sitter's little boy, got the chicken pox from the vaccine, and has been spotted all week--poor little guy!  So, we have had lots of quality time with Annah this week, as we kept her home to try to avoid her getting the spots!
     On Thursday, Annah and I had lunch with Jeremy's HU Unit at SF, and then went to work with him so everyone could meet Annah.  She was her usual happy, smiley self and was a big hit with all of Daddy's co-workers.
      Annah turned 20 weeks old on the 20th, and had her first meal of rice cereal from a spoon this past Monday!  She likes it!  Yesterday I caught her managing to scoot forward in a desperate attempt to crawl.  Hopefully it will be a while longer before she's that mobile.  She's just growing too fast!  Does anyone know how to make it slow down???

Monday, March 26, 2001- Study, study, study!
      Jeremy has been very busy these past few weeks studying diligently for the second test towards receiving his Certified Life Underwriter designation.  However, on Friday he took the time to accompany friends in a celebration of Pam Beeson's receiving her bachelor's degree. Congratulations Pam!!  Jeremy will take his exam this Wednesday.  Annah and I appreciate his hard work very much, and will be glad when he's able to emerge from the den and become a part of the family again! ;)  (A joke, a joke.)
     Yesterday Annah and I were treated to lunch at Max and Erma's with Suzanne and Matt Smith.  It was so nice to see them, especially since we hadn't since November!
      Back to work this week.  Thankfully for Zach, the chicken pox are gone!

Wednesday, March 28, 2001- Studying pays off!
      Jeremy passed the test with flying colors!!!  Hip-hip-hooray!!

Julie and Taryn were barely overcome by Andy and Jeremy in a game of Trivial Pursuit.  Next time the women will be victorious!  We discovered that Julie makes the world's best manicotti and Andy whipped up some killer cheesecake!

Grandma and Grandpa Mc visit

Today Grandpa and Grandma Mc came down to visit.    We went to Easton Towne Center and introduced them to the Cheesecake Factory!  Yummmm!  We had a nice relaxing evening at home.  

Sunday morning Grandma and Jeremy finished hanging the rest of the curtains Grandma made for the house.  Now we have every window covered, and they look so nice!  Thanks so much Grandma!!

 This evening, Annah's cousin Aidan and his parents Wendy and Jim came up from Kentucky to visit.  We had a nice dinner at Bob Evan's and got some cute pictures of the babies!
