Keep waiting

  The doctor now says he doesn't think the baby is going to decide to arrive on its own before next week.  So, we scheduled another appointment for Tuesday the 31st, and are going to keep waiting.

No big news yet

waiting...    We know you're looking for "the big news," but it hasn't happened yet!  We are still waiting and hoping it will be very soon.  I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon, and we are anxious to find out what progress there has been over the past week. 

       Electricians have been working in our house over the past two days.  Hopefully we will be able to hook up our computer tonight.  That will enable us to keep you updated! 


       Keep checking back!  There should be some exciting news soon! 

False Labor

   Well, we thought we were going to have the baby over the weekend, but it's just not quite ready yet.  I did have some false labor with a lot of back pains and some small, short contractions during the night on Thursday, and we thought it might be the beginning of labor.  But, I took the afternoon off Friday and rested and felt better on Saturday.  So, now we're back to waiting again.  The doctor says we "could labor at any time" though! 

      We will try to keep you all updated.  However, we don't have our computer hooked up at home due to some electrical work we are waiting to have done.  So, if we do have the baby soon, it might be some time before we're able to update the website.  If  you don't hear from us or from someone else, you should be able to find the baby's picture on the hospital website here: http://www.mountcarmelhealth.com/LittleMiracles/index.htm

I have another doctor's appointment scheduled for Thursday 10/26.

Full Moon

ll mWell, today is a full moon, and some have predicted that the baby might arrive today.  As of 10:00 a.m. it doesn't seem very likely though.  Situations can change at any moment though. 
     On Tuesday, Jeremy's (Health Underwriting) unit from State Farm took us out to a very nice lunch at Ruby Tuesday's in Heath.  It was quite an enjoyable time, and we were once again showered with gifts for the baby.  Those "Farmers" really go all out to show how much they care, and we appreciate the support and thoughtfulness. 

Over the Moon

       We enjoyed seeing many of you this past weekend at the little bit of Capital's homecoming we were able to get to! 
      Our main goal for the weekend was to get the nursery ready, and we were successful.  The theme is "Over the Moon."  The doctor says the baby could be here any day now! 

Unpacking

Our weekend went by quite quickly, as most weekends seem to do!  We're still plugging away trying to get things unpacked, although we've been informed by many, many people that unpacking is supposed to take a couple of years. 
      
Possibly the strangest thing that has happened since we moved into our house has been a little problem with our phone line.  Not only did it take 5 phone calls to Ameritech to have our old number switched to the house, but this weekend, they switched our number with a neighbor's number!  We have been receiving calls for "Amber" for 3 days, and have probably been making calls that will appear on her phone bill!  We have no idea how it happened, but if you've tried to call us lately, we hope you enjoyed talking to our neighbors!  We're hoping it'll be fixed today. 
    
On Sunday, Taryn's co-workers from Capital gave a very, very nice baby shower.  Again, we are just amazed by the support we receive from everyone, and we greatly appreciate all of the help in preparing for this little one! 

Doubly showered

Monday, September 25, 2000 - Showers! 
  What an eventful weekend we had!  We are continuously grateful for the wonderful friends we have, who just continue to give and give to us. 
     Friday night we had dinner with a crew from "the Farm" to celebrate Dustin and Tracy's birthdays at Don Pablo's. 
     Saturday, Taryn's friends Suzanne, Cora, and Mandy threw a lovely baby shower!  Fun and interesting games were played.  Let's just say that there are some baby foods that the Lopshire baby will never be fed now!  (Who knew macaroni and cheese could taste so bad?!?!)  Taryn enjoyed spending time with the girls and they gave us lots of wonderful gifts for the baby. 
     Sunday, we headed to Granville for "dinner" at the Dry residence.  When we arrived, it appeared that no one was home!  Jeremy thought for a moment that we had the wrong day, but Sandi answered the door shortly.  Upon entering the living room, we were greeted with shouts of, "Surprise!" and several of our best friends from State Farm!  Boy, were we shocked!  We had no idea what they were up to.  They gave us a gift that will enable us to record memories and share them with family and friends across the miles for years to come.  We enjoyed a wonderful evening and an amazing Italian dinner (complete with awesome homemade conolis) prepared by Sandi. 
     We feel so blessed to have such supportive friends and family, and are so thankful for everything you all have done for us, especially this year!

Settling Slowly

We are feeling pretty overwhelmed each time we walk in the door of our house and see all the boxes and things that need places assigned.  The unpacking is going very slowly.  At least everything is completely out of the apartment now. 

We had our last Labor & Birth Preparation class, and the tour of the maternity area at Mount Carmel last night.  Only 5 weeks now! 

Mostly moved in

e moved! 
    We still have some things to move from the apartment, but most everything is in the house now.  Mom & Dad (Mc) & Travis came down for the weekend and helped pack up and transport and unload everything.  
And, (Big Daddy) Dustin came over from Newark with his big truck and muscles to help move the heavy stuff. A HUGE, HUGE thank you to all of them!  We couldn't have done it without you all!  
Now there are boxes and boxes of stuff all over the house!  It looks like it will take forever to unpack it all and put things in place.  But, we're hoping we'll be able to get at least a little bit situated before the baby arrives!  It's neat to have a house to call home! 

Labor Day Weekend Shower

We went home to Indiana for the Labor Day weekend and spent some quality time with our families and friends there. We don't plan to head home again until after the baby is born--probably for Thanksgiving.  So, it was an especially memorable trip...

Grandma Vonda (well, soon-to-be Grandma) threw a very nice baby shower for us, and we are still overwhelmed by all of the wonderful gifts we received.  Thank you to everyone who was able to be there; it was great to see you all!

We also got to hang out with little Wilson for a while, who is growing up quickly and learning to use his potty chair!
Tonight we'll go to our second Labor and Childbirth class at Mount Carmel Hospital. We have already completed the Heading Home With Baby: The First 3 Months class, as well as a nursing class, which were both very informative. So, we're busy trying to prepare for this little one!

We're still working on packing and moving into the house too!
