Anyone else?

Jeremy took Sylvia back to Indiana this weekend and brought Annah home today. They were glad to see each other on Thursday though.

Caeden and I watched A New Hope 

On Saturday, we went out to practice driving. This kid's hair is so long it's constantly in his eyes, but he discovered a new use for his face mask while driving!

Caeden drove to school, then from Colfax to Bloomington on 165. He drove to Moe's and parked there, drove through his first stoplight, and drove home too. We decided to eat outside using the nice new chairs and little table Jeremy bought.

While we were eating lunch, Caeden was talking with Sam on SnapChat, and it was arranged for Sam to come stay with us. Caeden drove to his house and we brought him home to hang out. They have been playing Xbox, listening to music, and watching Psych into the wee hours of the night and morning. They are really glad to hang out in person!

Picnic in the park

Today Sylvia and her friend Lexi decided to have a picnic in the park. Sylvia baked blueberry muffins and packed coloring books, and they just hung out for a little bit on a really beautiful day.

I placed an order for some popcorn kernels, some spicy microgreens and a micro green growing kit from our friends at Finding Eminence Farm, and I enjoyed some beautiful poached egg avocado toast with micro greens this morning for breakfast.  So yummy and pretty!

Sylvia is hanging with her cousins this week, and they are having lots of fun. Sometimes the girls will send us videos and pictures. 

Last weekend, Mom and I checked out the chickens. They are kind of like teenager chicks now. The roosters are starting to try to crow.

The Gordman's in Columbia City is having closing sales, so Erin, Tessa, Annah, Sylvia, and I went over one afternoon last week.  Caeden wanted to go, but there wasn't enough room in the car. So, Sylvia and I shopped for him.  He was pretty stoked about the things we picked out for him, including this denim jacket and Kodak shirt. Uncle Travis explained to him what 24 exp. meant.  

I walked the track with Dawn while the sun set like this around us tonight. Wow!

I came home to these 3 with scripts in hand, acting out the entire show of Guys and Dolls. They even recorded 48 minutes of it. 

There was also some Wii boxing and N64 wrestling.  

Unrest

There is a lot of unrest in our country right now. 

I am not a person of influence. I do not feel I am one who can or should speak on the internet about most of the issues.  I truly hate that seemingly all issues have become political. Hatred and injustice of any kind are horrible and disgusting and tragic. The best thing I can do is pray to Jesus, who is the only One who can truly help us spread love in the place of all the hatred, judgement and fear. His love covers everything.

Of course, my favorite way to pray is with music...

Optimism

Our wonderful friend Dawn sent this great cup to Sylvia. It is hard to keep optimism going sometimes, but they are both people who work hard at it and help others to as well.

Trav and Erin made a fire in their backyard tonight and invited us over for s'mores.

A walk for beauty

I went on a little walk around my parents yard late this morning, just to look for beauty.  

There was a lot of beauty to be seen; I just needed to be intentional to look.
